Dr. Mitra placed a TAC for me. Leading up to the surgery, he was great. During the surgery, he nicked my intestine. Although that can happen in surgery, in the days that followed his team ignored my symptoms until discharging me a few days later instead of listening to my concerns or looking for answers. Against his wishes, I brought myself back to the ER less than 2 days later -- where they found my entire abdomen was filled with infection and I was less than 48 hours from death.

Dr. Mitraa was very patient and knowledgeable about TAC placements.. He was very touchable and reachable and made sure my procedure went as smoothly as possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the NC area.

I met Dr Mitra in 2001 after my 5th pregnancy ended at 23 weeks due to cervical incompetence. He was our last hope at ever being able to have children, my regular Ob had advised there was nothing more he could do for me after 2 failed pregnancies with cervical cerclages. Dr Mitra explained that he could perform a transabdominal cervical cerclage to help me carry my pregnancies to term. I decided to have the surgery and we now have 2 amazing daughters (both carried to 39 wks) thanks to Dr Mitra!
