Hung Up On
I called Dr. Mitra looking for a new prescriber and he pretty much hung up on me before I even explained my situation. I am a lifelong sufferer of PTSD that is severe enough to disrupt everyday life and prevents me from being able to do everyday functions. For decades I have never been able to find the right combination of medications that work for me. At the first mention of PTSD I was interrupted by Dr. Mitra asking if I was a medical marijuana patient. As soon as I said I was I was immediately interrupted again and essentially chastised for participating in the MMP. I am sorry if you have ideological disagreements with MMP or if patients have fabricated or exaggerated their anxiety to score a weed card or whatever but to nearly cause me a panic attack by being rude and combative because of your prejudices is extremely unprofessional. I pity your current patients for having such a small minded provider and I'm glad I dodged that bullet.

Growing up I suffered with Tourette's, more specifically auditory and facial tics which caused me severe depression and intense anger outbursts. Through years of therapy and figuring out the medication to help me best combat my tics, Dr. Mitra helped me to become a better person and thanks to him I can say I no longer suffer from auditory or visual tics. Also, through seeing the work he did to help myself and others he inspired me into the field of Psychology in which I currently study.

Dr. Mitra is extremely unprofessional. He leaves his door open during sessions and everyone can hear his conversations with patients, and leaves his filing cabinet open in the waiting area. Dr. Mitra never remembered anything from our previous sessions and would always put me on inappropriate medication or take me off something without tapering me first. He also never charged me copays for some reason and then tried to give me an envelope years later asking for all the money. DO NOT GO HERE.

I called Dr. Mitra one day out of sheer desperation, our daughter was suffering from post-pardum depression and she was getting worse by the day. She had been under the care of another practice and all they did was drug her up to the point of sedation. In three weeks Dr. Mitra had diagnosed her correctly and got her medications perfect. He saved our daughter and gave her back to us and most importantly to her baby. Thank you does not seem to be enough. Dr. Mitra, you are the best!!!
