Absolutely the worst. RUN, don’t walk, away.
Appointment was at 11am. I saw him at 1:30pm only after I put on my coat and was almost out the door. His waiting room was like a cattle car to Auschwitz.

The office is too crowded I would not recommend. I have been unable to reach Dr. Matta for months. Needed refill for eye drops and he never responded to calls from pharmacy or from myself to renew prescription.

Terrible experience. You wait in the waiting room for over an hour with other patients. You get called in, staff preps you. When you finally see Dr. Matta, he semi looks at your eyes, mumbles something to his staff member and leaves. Does not answer questions and if you do have a question staff will try and answer or give you a pamphlet. I won’t be seeing him again

For the reasons below, I would not recommend. I have been unable to reach Dr. Matta for months. Needed refill for glaucoma eye drops and he never responded to calls from pharmacy or from myself to renew prescription. Went to his office and it was locked and dark. Custodian told me office is closed everyday except Tuesday. Finally had to appeal to my PCP to call in the scrip. Finding a new opthamologist, because he seems to have disappeared. Last visit in April 2020, the waiting room so overcrowded, I sat in building lobby and kept going back to waiting room for 2 hours to check on my appointment. Finally I left without being seen.

Very long wait. Not very communicative. Speaks In jargon, dictating notes, without giving me explanation. Worst thing was his repeatedly and aggressively trying to sell me supplements. Very uncomfortable.

This writer is over 65 with Type 2 diabetes. Made a 10 AM appointment for a diabetic eye exam. Morning appointment to limit exposure to Covid-19 in indoor, enclosed office space. Hoped to be in and out quickly. As per other reviews, Dr. Matta is regularly several hours late. Staff does not inform waiting patients who could be waiting in the safely of their vehicles. Since no temperatures are checked upon arrival (as per CDC guidelines) and patients kept waiting in waiting room or treatment rooms for hours, doors open, Matta needlessly exposes vulnerable (all) patients to Covid-19. Perhaps someone with (Covid) pink-eye was in his office! I'd go if I had pink-eye, wouldn't you? No temperature checks or Covid-19 exposure questions asked. Perhaps CDC protocols take a back seat to his bottom line; anything's possible. I walked out at 11:45 AM, Dr. Matta still not on the premises. This 65+ year-old diabetic grandma was needlessly exposed for over 1.5 hours and eyes were never checked.

If you miss the pre-pandemic good old days, absolutely go see Dr. Matta! No waiting in your car until your appointment; just step right in, sit right down, anywhere! Hang out in his waiting room for hours. He may not arrive for hours, but what the heck? Didn’t doctors always make you wait around in the good old days before Covid-19? Temperature checks? Nah! Don’t worry about temperature checks or silly questions like: “Have you had chills, fever, body aches, loss of smell or taste or headaches in the past 21 days?” Or, “Have you been exposed to anyone who tested positive for Covid-19?” Or, “Have you traveled recently….? “ No worries! His staff won’t pester you with such trivialities. And, if you really want to feel like you are back in the good old pre-pandemic days, he’ll keep you waiting for nearly two hours with all the other unscreened patients. Every other doctor I have been to since the start of the pandemic follows CDC guidelines to keep staff and patients safe, but Dr. M

Went for my son's eye testing. This is the first time he will be wearing glasses. We had many questions. The doctor did not spent more than 2 minutes and left without answering any questions. Waste of money to visit this ophthalmologist. I could have gone to one of the glasses store and gotten more info than what I got from the doctor.
