Using year old labs to determine need for meds
My elderly mother went to him for an annual follow up for heart issues. He told her her cholesterol levels were fine. A month later her GP did blood work and her levels were off the chart. When I contacted Maksoud's office to find out what her numbers were that he based his statements on...I found out he was looking at labs from ONE FULL YEAR ago, from when she was actually taking some cholesterol meds. Gratefully she is back on her meds based on her GP's actions, but I find it inexcusable that a doctor tell an elderly patient not to take meds based on year old bloodwork. We will be finding a new cardiologist who actually cares about their patient.

After an angioplasty in 1998 that was a bad experience with another doctor, I had Dr Maksoud do an angiogram with two stents and he was one of two doctors in Wichita that went in through a wrist artery instead of a groin artery. He is knowledgeable and trustworthy. Excellent doctor.

Dr Maksoud was my mom's heart doctor for only a short while before she died of kidney failure. He took care of her heart, both physically and emotionally. He checked on her at the hospital even when he didn't have to and always brought a huge smile to her face. Sometimes he was the only one she responded to. He made her last days special for her and us by his kind treatment. My family loves him forever because of that!
