The Reason I Left Portland Clinic
This doctor is the reason I left Portland Clinic after 30 years. After my doctor retired, I picked him based on location . After a less than thorough physical examination, he required that I come back in to discuss “stage 2 kidney disease” which turns out to be a non-issue. After waiting a long time for an appointment, I arrived (on-time) and checked in. I asked whether I had time to run to the restroom and was told yes. The nurse called while I was gone (a very short time) and was told I was in the bathroom and would be right out. She passed that info to the doctor who told her to have me reschedule my appointment. When I was arguing with reception, she said they had a 10-minute late policy. We both looked at the clock and it STILL wasn’t 10 minutes. This doctor had no regrets – I know because he had an appointment the next day with a friend and she mentioned it. He was unapologetic and seemed unconcerned when my friend told him he had probably lost a patient.

Great primary care doc
Dr. Rakowski is my primary care doctor. He is incredibly kind, knowledgeable and professional. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and answer all of my questions. He is very patient and thorough in his explanations and even went the extra mile to provide me with additional information and resources. I am confident that my health is in excellent hands with Dr. Rakowski and I would highly recommend him as a primary care doctor.
