Dr. Barbara Scherer, MD

Dr. Scherer is everything you want in a doctor. She is personable, caring, and most of all highly proficient in all aspects of medicine. In many cases she knows more than a specialist and able to identify the true cause of a problem. Whether you need a primary care physician or a proctologist (or both!), Dr. Scherer is a first-rate choice. Medical Assistant Heather is a great complement.

I would strongly recommend finding a different Doctor. I took my 89 year old mother to see her and after 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting to see her we ended up leaving. No apology no return of Co-Pay. This Doctor fills up her waiting room and exam rooms with patients and makes you wait. Extremely unprofessional. When you get there don't let her wall of awards fool you, you will get no treatment, no respect and a DO NOT CARE ATTITUDE.

Dr. Scherer and her Staff are Awesome. I was having rectal pain, they gave me an immediate appointment. Upon examination, it was determined that I had 2 hemorrhoids. Dr. Scherer banded/lassoed them and I was out of the office within 15 minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Scherer she is amazing, professional and has a great sense of humor.

I was so happy to have found Dr. Scherer, I was plagued with hemorrhoids for years. I was so lucky to find a wonderful doctor who was quick and efficient, who fixed my problem. Dr Scherer also took the time out to explain everything to me, office staff wonderful as well…

The reviews of Dr Scherer included short wait time. That has not been my experience on multiple visits, spending an hour in the waiting room and another hour in the examining room waiting to see her. Records are written by hand, so they miss stuff, and there is no easy access to records for the patient. During Covid, when she was less busy, appointment times were better, but again, we are back to long waits. It also seems like she focuses on her beauty patients who get in and out quickly and who buy supplies from her.

Dr. Scherer is amazing She is treating my internal hemmoroids, and I am starting to feel better. Out of fear,I suffered in silence for a long time, and I am so glad and grateful that I found Dr.. Scherer. She makes youfeel so comfortable. She patiently answered all my questions and reassured me that my hemmoroids would improve. I highly recommend her. She is a terrific doctor!

I am extremely grateful for Dr. Scherer's professional diagnosis and compassionate treatment of my very painful and stubborn hemorrhoids. Her "Office Hemorrhoidectomy" memorandum informing on physiology and advising on treatment greatly facilitated my understanding and care options.

10/08/20 My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Scherer for 20 plus years. She is very compassionate and personable. We get regular checkups, Including bloodwork, and follow-ups to thoroughly discuss all results. By spacing her appointments, she leaves plenty of time for interaction with her patients, which is important. She keeps up with all the newest medical techniques, and prescribes the best medications, to preserve our quality healthcare. In addition, her office staff is very courteous, when scheduling appointments, working with insurers, and keeping files in order. Dr. Scherer has two terrific PA’s, Heather and Mike, who have been with her for years. We know them very well and they do an excellent job, on many fronts. I have been a patient of Dr. Scherer's for about 20 years. She is an excellent Internist. She is kind and compassionate. Several years ago, I was suffering from a neuropathy in my left foot. It was difficult to walk without pain. Dr. Scherer was the one physician who noticed that I was taking Prilosec and that it can cause depletion of magnesium. She was spot on-magnesium was very low. Started magnesium and the pain resolved. Excellent diagnostician!! Great office staff!
