Dr. Barry Gershuny, MD

I’ve seen so many psychiatrists and none are like Dr. Gershuny. He is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had. He thinks logically but at the same time is caring and attentive. He is also hilarious!! I’ve been seeing him for almost 2 years and will continue to. He helped figure out the right regimen for me and I’m stable.

Really disappointing. He is disrespectful toward patients. He is unresponsive to phone calls or emails, and more than once I was not able to get the medications I needed in time although I had followed all the procedures. On the other hand, there is no mercy if patients err. I had never missed or canceled a scheduled appointment before and had never been late. When I was late for an appointment just one time and due to a really awful event in my life, I was charged the no show rate accompanied by a condescending email and told I could have another appointment in two months. There was then a cancellation the next week which I was offered, but I said that I would not be going to him anymore. He suggested that I was making the decision on the basis of emotion rather than what was best for me. He made no indication that what he did was at best unkind and at worst unethical. The condescension was extraordinary, the double standard for behavior egregious.

Dr. Gershuny is intuitive, empathetic, and remarkably intelligent. He's not a "pharmacist" like some psychiatrists. He is conservative with prescribing meds, yet recognizes their place in treating his patients and ultimately improving the quality of their lives. Even during my 20-minute "check-in" appointments, I feel like his focus is 100% on me and what I'm saying. And he clearly stays current with all the latest treatments. I'm SO grateful I was referred to him. He is amazing!

Best psychiatrist I have seen, trust him greatly. Expert with meds and balancing multiple meds.

Dr gershuny real cares amd is extremely knowledgable about new medications, their used and alternative uses. He is the best.
