I am a relative new patient to Dr. Sundland. Have seen him 2-4 times. My former doc (in the same practice) quit. Dr. Sundland - every time he sees me says 'make a follow-up appointment in two months. BUT, he is booked up 3-4-5 months in advance. This probably just a minor inconvenience to me - I am pretty healthy and don't need to see him when he tells me - but, either the staff is not telling him how far in advance he has appointments, or he is not listening to them. My concern . . . what if I have any emergency? Last time I was in the waiting room (longer than the 15 minutes), an elderly man came in. He was obviously hurting, and I heard the staff tell him he would have to wait 2-3 months for an appointment. I try to avoid the medical field, in part for this reason. Docs, nurses and staff are not available to us. So, we must depend on Urgent Care or the ER. As I mentioned, I am on the wrong side of [omitted], and back in the day, doctors were available - apparently not now. Is this just our new normal?? And why do I have to 'check in' 15 minutes before my appointment . . . but I am not called out of the waiting room until 15-20 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment?
