Knowledgeable, Caring, Patient & Considerate!
One of the Best Family physicians I have had the pleasure of helping me. In this newer environment of doctors seeking their own financial gains and greed, Dr Hamblin remains true to his medical oath to empathize with his patients first and do what is required to help them with their health conditions so they have a better quality of life and live longer.

Not so good.
He continually runs late, by up to an hour. He was completely dismissive of the symptoms which made me schedule the appt in the first place, so I got no answers there. He was mainly interested in signing me up for standard medical procedures such as colonoscopy, xray, etc. The facilities are old and grubby, the air stale, unpleasant to visit, and you'll be there for awhile. He only has patients because he is in west Marin and we are somewhat isolated here. OK for flu shots or something like that, but If you have serious health concerns, I would strongly recommend seeking out a better doctor.

A true "family" doctor, really sees/hears you
Dr. Hamblin is a thoughtful/wise doctor for me & my husband as well friends in our community. He listens & doesn't just dash off prescriptions, I feel he looks at situations holistically to find the best approach for your issues. It might mean an important lifestyle change or letting us explore an alternative medical idea. If he believes that we need a traditional medication he fully explains why. When we first started seeing Dr. Hamblin he was fine that my husband's high blood pressure had come under control through diet and supplements for several years. He asked that my husband take his blood pressure several times a week & to come in with any changes. This worked for 5 more years & became no longer effective, he worked with my husband to use a safe pharmaceutical to bring the BP back into normal range & it has worked well. In particular he is wonderful for those of us over 50. It's a small community clinic & sometimes wait times are a bit long, but your patience will be worth it.

Dr Hamblin is a good doctor and is very knowledgable about all types of illnesses, bleed tests, X-rays and medicines. Trust him with my care for many years. Is flexible if I refuse to take a certain antibiotic or am allergic he knows which one I need as a replacement. Do not blindly follow everything he says if disagree but seek answer by asking for more info..

Is the Medical Director for Windsor Care Center. Oversaw the care for my loved one. Very insensitive, lacks compassion and does not abide by the code of conduct that each doctor must follow. Very slow with ordering tests and results. Had to be told what tests should be administered and had to follow up. Prescribed medication that interacted with other medications. Has such a big ego didn’t like it when family offered suggestions and sought other care. Said it went against his morals and ethics to put a feeding tube in a 50 year old woman. Awful person and doctor. He is not up on his knowledge of caring for people with strokes and does not understand the neurological side affects. This is not the right profession for him.

I am leaving this review, mainly because I am so surprised to see any mediocre ones. Dr Hamblin, has always given me his undivided attention, & gone out of his way to be of service & explain any questions thoroughly. In addition, he has always taken great care to maximise the efficiency of MY time, in all matters/ visits/ tests & etc. This alone, I regard as a rare quality in a health provider, where their time is usually the high priority, not the patients'.
