Amazing Orthopedist!
Dr Shu was very personable and great at communicating in way that was understandable. She was always easy to reach with questions and responded quickly. Dr. Shu did a great job of preparing me for surgery and was quick to respond to any follow up questions or needs. I drove 1 hour each way to see Dr. Shu because she is with the time. I highly recommend her.

Dr Shu provided extraordinary care
After a bad fall, my PCP recommended PT when an X-ray showed no broken bones. A few weeks of PT didn't seem to help so I had an MRI which revealed "massive" (surgeon's word) damage to my shoulder, including a complete biceps tear and rotator cuff damage. Dr Shu performed arthroscopic surgery to repair all the tendons (4 little incisions or "ports") and by the end of the first week, I was already feeling better. Home exercises helped tremendously and now, at the 8-week mark, I am almost 100% pain free and ready to begin strengthening my arm. Dr Shu could not have been more attendant, providing excellent information and alternatives, obviously excellent surgical expertise, and top notch follow up care. I highly recommend her to anyone requiring shoulder surgery.

Got my Shoulder back
After a few years of shoulder pain and being in and out of physical therapy, Dr. Shu performed arthroscopic surgery for my shoulder. I no longer have shoulder pain and I have regained most of my shoulder mobility. Thanks to Dr. Shu I have returned to my usual activities without pain including running, hiking, kayaking, and weightlifting. I really appreciate that surgery was not the first solution presented for this problem and her great bedside manner during follow up appointments.

Dr. Beatrice Shu took care of my left shoulder injury after a car accident in 2018. She was extremely personable and listened intently to the concerns I had about my shoulder…really listened!! A rotator cuff repair surgery was performed and within three months I was pain free and completely healed! I then developed an issue with my right shoulder which she quickly diagnosed and did a less invasive procedure with amazing results! I highly recommend Dr. Shu to anyone in need of an orthopedic surgeon! In my humble opinion, she is the best and I will be forever grateful to her for taking such excellent care of me!

Dr Shu is the best! Obviously very intelligent, thoughtful, thorough and combined with her “bedside manner” it left me extremely confident that surgery for a torn quadricep was my best option. Everything she told me would happen unfolded exactly as planned. My post operation knee is as good as I could I hope for!

I had a sudden traumatic transverse tear of two rotator cuff tendons late in 2019. Dr Shu was the 2nd Ortho I saw and I am so glad I saw her. Caring, attentive, detail oriented and meticulous! Her staff is exceptionally efficient and tells you the “real deal” to prepare you for surgery. Post surgical care was phenomenal- layman terms when answering questions for caregivers and follow up phone calls. I am 6 weeks away from a year from my surgery and I think my right shoulder is stronger than before. If I could give Dr Shu and her staff a 100 stars I would. I have stayed with KP solely because of this experience!

After a year and a half of knee pain caused by a torn meniscus and treated with solid physical therapy, icing and ibuprofen, Dr. Shu assessed my MRI to see that I'd likely benefit from arthroscopic correction of meniscal pathology. I'm in my mid forties with a history of professional dance, recreational jogging and consistent weight training, so physical therapy was important to me post op. I could not have been more pleased with my office visits and surgery experience with Dr. Shu and her team. I immediately got relief from the knee pain that caused me to seek treatment and would recommend Dr. Shu without hesitation.

Dr Shu is everything you expect your doctor to be! Before and after surgery she has taken all the time needed to explain in detail and answer all questions! Dr Shu put my shoulder back together (rotator cuff, bone spurs, cleaned up the mess I made of it). Recovery has been simple.

Dr. Shu did a partial hip replacement for me. According to the x-rays on my 3 week checkup, all is well. She covered each point of the procedure precisely beforehand. I have numerous spine issues and am very pleased with the outcome.

While you expect your MD to be knowledgeable, Dr. Shu takes the time to explain your condition, possible causes, and your options for treatment. She also is somewhat conservative in her approach - she doesn't rush to try invasive treatments - which I consider to be a positive.
