Bad bedside manner
My parents raved about Dr. Kalsmith and the cardiac care he provided to my mother on a previous occasion. Imagine their shock when, today, she went in for a procedure and he a.) Asked if she had any questions and b.) Instead of listening and answering a scared patient, he snapped at her and told her he isn't a miracle worker and can't make a guarantee...then he said if she didn't want the procedure, he'd cancel it right then. I don't know if he was having a bad day or if he's just a mean person by nature, but the attitude he displayed today was off-putting, to say the least. If you see this doctor, make sure you have a thick skin or zero questions.

Great Doctor
Doctor is very personable and explains everything he’s done or going to do in detail, that’s great. I recommended him several times already, I’ve been his patient since 2017. Wouldn’t go see anyone else concerning heart issues.

Review of Recent Visit
The ultrasound technician was loud, rude, overbearing and overly touching me. When I complained, she ran out of the room. A short time later, I received a letter telling me not to come back. Dr. Kalsmith spent NO time with me and no explanation of the test results. As a patient, I deserve much better treatment. You do too.

The medical office is run similar to an assembly line. If you have questions, they won't be answered the doctor is always ready to move to the next patient.I was scheduled for a stress test but when I couldn't briskly walk on the tread mill due to rthritis, I was rushed into the next room and told to wait out front for another 30 minutes.I have a hole in my heart but getting info is almost impossible, time to move on to next patient; end of doctor visit.Treated coldly by staff, would not go back.

I'm a recently Critical Care RN, so my standards are impossibly high for my docs. Dr K is extremely personable, ie listens to you, treats you like a priority and a person, not a "case." His knowledge is superior, his ability and willingness to explain his concearns for your heart issues is unsurpassed. He brings you and your family into the decision making process about procedures, like Nuclear Treadmill vs Catheterization, Stents, Surgery. Follow-up care excellent.
