Dr. Benjamin Mize, MD

I was referred to Dr Mize for an endometrial cancer diagnosis. He was thorough explaining and answering questions. He performed my hysterectomy and did a great job. I highly recommend.

I should have ended my visit the minute he came in. My GYN referred me for stage 4 endometriosis because they said my condition was so extreme I’d benefit from a physician who specialized in gynecological surgeries in order to have the best hysterectomy outcome. After greeting me he said my condition wasn’t his area of expertise. OK, so the visit should have ended there. Not sure why I was scheduled with him since referrals require detailed notes from the referring physician, so one of his colleagues who was better qualified should have had my case. I ended up getting referred to his partner who did a fantastic job & treated me with more dignity.Anyway, after he told me he’s not the expert he spent 50 minutes mansplaining my condition like he’d just googled it. Then the pelvic exam was abrupt & rough with less communication than a cow gets from a vet. The female resident shadowing him apologized after he left the room. I’m glad my husband was there so I knew I wasn’t crazy.

I had bad experiences with previous Drs and right away he listened to me and so did his office staff. He did a wonderful job with surgery, and I would recommend him to anyone. God bless him. I am young and he saved me from dying. My family, friends and I are so grateful for him. I had many questions, and his office staff was so helpful throughout the whole process.
