Don’t go!!!!
Dr preformed an ankle replacement on me. After another doctor visit, I was told it never should have been done! It was destined to fail because of how bad my arthritis was. That happened after he had already fused that ankle, and left me with a very badly misshaped ankle and heel. When I needed the other ankle treated, I went to a different doctor, who agree with his treatment plan, but wanted me to go into Philadelphia. I chose to allow Dr Overley to do this “simple” fusion. After I was walking again, I started having severe pain in my heel. I went back to him 3 times, each time being told it was neuropathy, which I knew it wasn’t. He finally ordered a CT. He told me it was because the fusion wasn’t complete in the front, which made no sense!!! When I finally chose to go for a second opinion, the new DPM looked at the same CT. Found a broken screw which could happen to any surgeon, and a piece wedged in my heal. Long story short, had to have all hardware removed and a new fusion done.

Misdiagnosed me with Charcoat that was nothing more than gout. Had me buy an expensive boot ($1,000) that I didn't need.

I received a notice from his office saying he was closing his practice, have a nice life! He never even recommended another Doc to handle my care. The last time I called his office to report continued pain, his nurse said my prosthetic may have been recalled. I thought she was joking. After she told Overley about my call he said he could do a "bone scraping" to take down the swelling. What? In trying to find another Doc, I discovered the prosthetic STAR total ankle replacement he installed had in fact been recalled due to product failure and needed revision. His office never sent me the recall notice. Now my situation has deteriorated so badly, even revision surgery is questionable. My other limited option includes a fusion with cadaver bone. Both procedures would be far more invasive and intense than the initial replacement. And I may need multiple surgeries going forward as I am only 61. Another reality is I could be facing amputation.

Dr. Overley was amazing. He saw my son the day after his skateboarding accident and had him scheduled for surgery within a few days. He was always available to answer any questions that came up after surgery and went out of his way to make sure our concerns were alleviated. My son felt very comfortable with Dr. Overley's ability to get him back to his passion of surfing. Two months after surgery and my son is walking just in time to go back to college. Surfing will be soon.

Dr. Overley performed invasive surgery on my foot to repair all of my torn ligaments. He explained everything clearly and helped me through this tough process when I thought I was never going to get better. He is one of the best surgeons I’ve ever been too!

Excellent! That’s my description of professionalism and care I received. From the moment that I walked through the doors seeking treatment to being released from treatment after my surgery. My experience with Doctor Overlay and his staff brought back a much needed refresher that doctors and medical staff DO care about their patients!

Dr. Overley was very knowledgeable and personable. I was given all options and he helped me choose the best route for healing my broken foot. He completed my surgery with confidence 2 days after meeting with him. I was extremely happy that I did not have to wait long to find a fix. I was and still am very pleased with him and his staff!

I went to see Dr. Overley after I had surgery to repair a ruptured achilles which was done by another Dr. I never felt right after the 1st surgery done by another Dr. I shared my concerns with the Dr who initially operated on me & he told me it just takes time. I went to see Dr. Overley for a 2nd opinion. He got me in for an MRI & discovered a tear that occurred higher than the ruptured achilles & performed surgery shortly thereafter. Everything went so smoothly thanks to Dr Overley!
