Dr. Benzy Padanilam, MD

Dr fit me in so I could have my review before my surgery. His nurse told very good care of me and I did not feel as though i was bothering anyone by being “squeezed in”. I had a full exam and the Dr. told me what I needed to know. He was also prompt in getting back with my surgeon. He has been my Dr. since 2007.

Dr. Padanilam was well informed before he spoke with me, and was excellent in asking clear questions to clearly identify and understand the two issues I’m dealing with as part of his diagnosis. He was very thorough and clear. His communication was very informative and reassuring. His recommendations and treatment plan made complete sense (medication vs. surgery), and he carefully addressed potential overlap with my existing medications. I was immediately impressed with and confident in his expertise and advice. I am very grateful for his care.

I was not impressed with Dr Padanilam first time seeing him. I felt he was very short , made me feel like my appointment was wasting his time. He asked me why I was there, I would have expected him to have reviewed my chart prior to my appointment since another St Vincent Cardiologist refered me to him for current issues with my heart as well as past issues with my heart. When discussing current heart conditions I ask him what would cause the issues to which he replied its nothing to worry about. When I asked if it was the same issue that I had in the past to which he replied it was a different type , no explanation. He basically prescribed meds told me he would order an echo and see me back sometime in August. It took me months to get this appointment only to get Zero answers. I do not appreciate doctors who waste my time ..

Dr. Benzi has not only saved my life, but he has saved my life twice, he continues to go above and beyond any other electrocardioligist that I've been to across the country. He's personable, and takes the time to get to know how you are truly feeling. I was a young 25 years old when I suffered sudden death cardiac arrest we he saved my life in 2002, he did it again in 2008 when someone on the other side of the country replaced my defibrillator improperly, he continues to what i would consider, to be the best out there today, but It's because of his decision to implant a defibrillator that I continue to live today. I can't thank this man and his practice enough.

Very good cardiologist! I have not had any issues after my ablation surgery!
