Dr. Thomas has replaced two shoulders, one hip, and one knee on me. I do not know of a better surgeon.

Said I need partial shoulder joint & I had lots of muscle. Day of surgery (after 6 hrs. waiting) changed to total shoulder replacement. Wasn't able to connect it to rotator cuff so shoulder is out of joint (high & pushed back). Very painful, can't use arm, told me to wait a year and maybe the "scar tissue" will take care of it. He said no P.T. I asked about reverse surgery he said 20-40% failure rate & his surgery was better. Later admitted shoulder out joint.

I recently had my second knee replaced by Dr. Thomas, he replaced my other knee last year. I am a nurse (47 years) but his explanations and the time he took to explain everything to myself and my husband was amazing, not assuming I knew what was to happen. My recovery and pain control went exceptionally well after the first surgery, so while never an easy decision to have surgery, I was very confident with Dr. Thomas. He spends the time needed with each patient, we never felt rushed.

I can think of no finer and caring doctor than Dr. Thomas. His concern and care was the best health care experience that I have had. There was no pain after the hip replacement and progress over the last year has been as he stated. UCLA is the best in my opinion.

Dr. Thomas did a knee surgery for a knee replacement. He placed the artificial knee at an angle instead of straight as it should have been. That mistake caused my foot to be at an angle and has badly affected my leg and foot. I will soon be having a second knee replacement surgery with a different surgeon. This would not be necessary if the first surgery was been done correctly. I highly do NOT recommend Dr. Thomas.

I had an excellent experience with first my hip replacement surgery and then I returned for a knee replacement surgery both with Dr. Thomas. I wouldn't go to anyone else. He was personable and very kind with me. He answered my husband's and my questions with thoroughness and a caring attitude. He was never in a hurry to answer more questions. I couldn't be happier with the results. I completely trusted him and wish I had had both surgeries sooner. No more pain!
