Dr. Beth Ballen, MD

Staff initially increased my husband's benzodiazepine medication, the medication he has been taking for 15+ years, and then abruptly stopped prescribing the same benzodiazepine medication. He had several incidents which were due to his psychosis which was due to the withdrawal from the medication that Ballen Medical abruptly stopped prescribing. The psychosis exacerbated his schizophrenia symptoms which Ballen Medical was fully aware of and now my husband has been diagnosed with, among other things, full blown schizophrenia and is awaiting transportation from the county jail to the state mental hospital due to episodes caused my his psychosis which was caused by Ballen Medicals decision to abruptly stop prescribing my husband medication that he had been taking for over 10 years when he began seeing Doctors at Ballen Medical, the same medication that Doctors chose to increase the dosage on shortly before refusing to prescribe it. This place saved my life. Dr. Beth Ballen is different from every other doctor I’ve had. Every one of my previous doctors didn’t sincerely care for my health or well-being, were selfish with their time, or were just in it for the money. Dr. Ballen wasn’t. She truly cared for my health and happiness. I’ve been struggling with serious mental health problems for years. With Dr. Ballen’s expert psychiatry and after completing some IV infusions at Ballen Medical & Wellness, I was able to climb out of a very dark place. I felt immediate relief, and it was all thanks to Dr. Ballen, Danielle, Hannah, Quinn, Andrea, and the rest of the immensely caring, loving, and professional staff at Ballen Medical & Wellness. I don’t understand any other negative reviews as the overwhelming majority of those under Dr. Ballen’s care got the help they needed. Beth Ballen is an amazing doctor. She takes time with each patient and listens to what the patient is feeling. She is one of the best in her field. I highly recommend Dr. Ballen for any mental health/addiction needs.

I have been seeing Dr. Ballen for a few years now, and I hope that never changes. She has been so helpful and understanding to my issues, and always seems to have a fix for everything. She cares so much, that I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. I have had quite a few psychiatrists throughout my life, and none have proven to be this helpful AND caring. She is always there for me when I have an emergency.

In the 5 years or so that I've been seeing Dr Ballen, she has never forgotten me, insists on follow up with me and is genuinely concerned that I am stable with improving mood and behaviors. She is warm and nurturing and extremely knowledgeable about medications. I have heard from other psychiatrists at the hospital that she is the best when it comes to medication management. She also has chosen wonderful staff, including the best therapist ever, Deede Amhowitz. Thank you Ballen Medical!
