Extremely Bad
My 89 year old mother was admitted to the Newton-Wellesley hospital with chronic UTI infection. Before admission, she had already tried six different antibiotics, none of which could remove the bacteria. She was immediately given one of those antibiotics that had not worked before. After three days she was visited by Dr. Hearn, one of the infectionists who works under Dr. Leibowitz. At the visit she claimed that 10,000-50,000 bacteria count in a specimen was not an infection and removed that antibiotic. Dr. Leibowitz denied my request to talk to him on the phone or in person. A day later my mother was discharged with a new test showing the amount of white cells (the infection indicator) being 41, which is 5 times larger than normal.

Incompetent
When my mom is in the hospital, Bevin was very condescending and rude and unwilling to engage in a dialogue regarding her assessment of my mom having colitis despite testing positive for Cdiff. As soon as my mom went off the antibiotics that I had to beg them to give me for the CDiff, the CDiff immediately came back, and my mom tested positive again with toxin A and B present. Given my mom‘s history of recurrent cdiff, the symptoms she presented with, and the test results, for Bevin to dismiss all of that, and say that she only had colitis is unbelievable and she was 100% wrong. My mom is now dying of cdiff. Avoid this doctor at all costs.
