Wonderful Doctor
He takes his time with each patient and is thorough in his explanations of your blood work. He also is very knowledgeable regarding vitamins & supplements. Best doctor I've ever seen in my 50 plus years. In the past, he did have a very no-smiles receptionist that was off-putting, but she is no longer there.

Dr. May is thorough, knowledgeable, & kind
Although it takes a while to get out of there, I would not change doctors for the world. Dr. May always answers my questions, addresses my health concerns. and is respectful, compassionate, and professional. The office staff have been polite and responsive for 10 years that I have been going to this practice. They are always extremely busy, but that is understandable given the number of patients they treat.

I was unable to get an appointment with Dr. May. His office staff is the rudest group I have every dealt with. The first person told me that he was taking new patients but there was an approval process. She said she would call me back later that day and schedule the appointment. Well two days passed and no return call. I called again and got another person who said Dr. May isn't taking new patients. I told her my previous conversation and she said "that must have been Kate, she's at lunch, i'll have her call you." I asked if she would like my number and she said the number verifying caller ID. Never got a call back but at that point I decided the office staff was too rude to deal with and would rather not make that appointment. Hopefully Dr. May reads these reviews because I'm not the only one who has experienced this group of unprofessionals.

Dr. Billy May was easy to deal with and very professional but his staff is the worst i have come across. Takes days for the nurse to get back to you after leaving a message and when calling to get medical records they hangup in your face. Worst experience with a doctor office!!!

Dr. Billy May and his staff are easily, far and above the BEST team I’ve ever encountered in my life. Dr. May and his Chief Nurse and staff care so much for my husband and I and they always take time to investigate issues, and propel us on the best path of life. They do more than practice medicine — they cultivate life within their patients. Dr. May exhibits the lost art of empathy; he is present with my husband and I, we are more than just a number, more than just an appointment to check off for the day. His advice is meaningful, he’s honest, and just so transparent. If every doctor followed in his footsteps, we’d quickly see an entire world of wellness!! He invests so much in us, that when he says “Take care to eat right, exercise, or here’s an approach to this or that,” I take it to heart. If I moved back to Texas, I would make the 8 hour drive to see him, because the service, care, quality, and open and honest ways he conducts his practice are unparalleled. We love Dr. May & Team!

I have been going to Dr. May for 3 years and have always found him to be a thorough, compassionate, and experienced physician. He explains test results and allows you to ask questions or discuss so that you fully understand. He is never quick to write a script but will suggest alternatives to medication, which shows that he has his patients' best interest at heart. My only minor frustration is that his office is very slow in following up with test results, appointments, etc.

Dr. May is a great physician, however, his office staff, and particularly his receptionist is exceedingly rude. I have addressed this w Dr. May privately, however, nothing has changed.

Dr may has treated me my entire life. I have never met another Dr who was as intelligent and truly cared about his patients. Dr may is very thorough. His staff members are wonderful. His nurse Casey is a wonderful woman. I would recommend Dr to anyone. He has become part of my family and I wouldn't trust anyone else for my care. Katherine pennington

Dr. May is awesome; compassionate, thorough, really listens. The staff are good at their jobs, BUT they are rude and lack in pleasantness. Nobody wants to be subjected to a bunch of sour pusses especially when you don't feel well. Hard to get fit into the schedule if you have a sudden illness or injury.

Dr May is the best human first and dr next. He takes his time, he listens to each patient. He is kind, & compassionate ALWAYS and I'll never find a better pcp. He's a stand alone dr not affiliated w Baton Rouge clinic or lake primary care which speaks volumes! He's like an old time dr doing labs, X-rays, and proceedures in office. I just moved far from Louisiana and missing him as my pcp! Everyone loves dr May, just ask anyone in his waiting room.
