excellent experience I had a lot of problems with diverticulitis I had infections and pus in my belly. After putting me on antibiotics and waiting for infection to go away, he performed laparoscopic colon removal through small incisions. everything went great. I was home in 3 days and I feel great. My husband was also very pleased with results. Dr Pomerants has a great bed side manner and made us feel comfortable. I would recommend anyone to him I am grateful for his skills.

I had a large abdominal hernia and was referred to Dr. Pomerants by my primary card doctor. I found his office staff helpful and very kind pre-op and post-op.I found Dr. Pomerants knowledgable and informed me well without long, complicated instructions. I particularly liked his advice on post-op exercises; those have been very helpful.

Dr. Pomerants performed emergency surgery on me in July when my colon perforated suddenly at the Water Park. His excellent work saved my life! He and his outstanding office team took great care of me for nine days at Dublin Methodist Hospital until I was able to make the trip back home to Virginia. I highly recommend Dr. Pomerants for his surgical skills, his frequency of hospital visits and his clarity of explanation of what had happened to me. There's a good ending to my story - four months later, my colon was reattached and I'm now functioning normally. His initial surgery made all the difference to me!

Dr. Pomerants explained everything very thoroughly and made sure I understood each step of the care I needed. During my care he even contacted me personally to explain test results and what I would need to do if anything escalated while he was out of town. When it came time for surgery, everything from surgery to recovery went very smoothly. I would highly recommend Dr. Pomerants.

My first visit I was told I definitely needed surgery I was given the prep wash and all the instructions, however, since I was not ready to set a surgery date I was told to call in when I had an idea of when I wanted the surgery. Dr pomerantz said that he would like to do imaging just so he knew what was going on for the surgery. After I had the imaging and about a month later when I was ready to have the surgery I called in to get a date, exactly as the doctor told me to do. But I was told I needed to come in when I asked why I was told I don't know. When I got there several people asked me why I was there, so I said I don't know. Then the doctor arrived at my examining room he proceeded to reprimand me for calling in to get a surgery date and the worst part was that he left the exam door open and spoke loud enough for the receptionist and everyone in the waiting room to hear. Apparently the imaging showed I did not need surgery and he had never notified me. Apparently my fault.

Because of Dr. Pomerants skill and abilities I was able to have my appendix taken out Laprascopically. I was under his care for 4 weeks before the surgery and am so glad for him taking on my ruptured appendix case.

Bedside manner is extremely poor, and talks at you instead of to you. Seems insulted when you ask questions. Also did not perform my surgery well and created more problems than what I came in with. Which resulted in myself undergoing more surgery to fix his team and his mistakes. Very unsatisfied and would definitely not recommend.

I have a very serious illness that required major surgery with Dr. Pomerants. He was very straight-forward in his approach, discussing my illness and surgeries that would be needed. I appreciate the fact that he did not sugarcoat anything. Final outcome to be determined but I am on the correct path to a full recovery due to Dr. Pomerants knowledge and expertise.

I worked with Dr. Pomerantz as he was beginning his surgical career. I have seen him as a patient and I have referred many many people to him. Most importantly, I had referred my sister to him and he ended up saving her life. We had no idea how bad she was but Dr. Pomerantz was a steady, calm, reassuring force during a frightening time. My co-worker's partner is being seen by him currently and as sick as he was I was thrilled to find out that BJ was his doctor. I do not see him much any more as our careers have gone separate ways over the decades but, if I need a general surgeon, he will be my go to guy.
