Sorry I went there
My experience mirrors so many other reviews. He seemed caring the first visit. My post-surgery experience was terrible. When I said I was still in pain months later, he offered to refer me to another type of specialist, because it couldn't possibly have been caused by the surgery. My hand will never be completely right. Had to ask repeatedly for therapy referral. Thank goodness I have since found a great doctor that performed corrective surgery.

I had surgery on my hand a few years ago, and the experience was awful. At the time the PT and follow up process with novant was terrible. I recently had another surgery to fix the first one, I regret getting surgery from him.

Trigger finger
Had an appt. in Feb. to see the Dr. to schedule the procedure to correct an extremely painful trigger finger problem , not my first time with this issue .A little over a week after my original appt. they called and scheduled me for April 10 was called yesterday and told they were cancelling that appt. and scheduling for June 14Th 5 months after my original visit . Appt. scheduling seems to be in a state of chaos ! Very disappointing and frustrating!

On May 18 I was scheduled at Orthocarolina Huntersville office. I first saw a PA. After PA Dr Valentine came in. He was very personable. He examined my wrist. He the started to explain my problem. He then proceeded to draw me a picture. He explained everything that was wrong. I understood my medical issue. He then gave me treatment options. He recommended the most conservative treatment. I highly regard Dr. Valentine. He is so knowledgeable, patient, and kind! If surgery is in the future, I am glad I am now an established patient.

Terrible. Never calls you back. Spent $2000 for MRI that proved nothing, but a door slammed in my face and was told they couldn’t help. Fell down a flight of stairs and have had severe wrist pain since. Non compassionate and frankly they don’t care.

I would have given him a 5 star. I have been a patient for almost a year now. I used to feel like he cared about my health. Now he acts like your a burden. When you try to ask questions or bring up that the current treatment isn't helping. Even after being pushed for surgery. He is quick to dismiss any kind of opinion that you may have on your body. I can't keep making appointments and spending money I don't have on health care when doctor's won't even listen to their patient. Even when you have a heart to heart conversation with them, they discredit your situation and make you feel that you don't matter.

I left a message on their emergency hotline on Saturday. No one called me back. I left a message with the triage nurse today. No one has called me back. I now just left a message with some other assistant. I had surgery 5 weeks ago and have now re-injured my hand. I have surgical pins sticking out of my hand. I’ve done everything they told me to do. I’m terrified about the additional damage done to my hand. And no one will return my call.

The nurse I had was so rude I cried as soon as she walked out of the door. She took my blood pressure on the arm that was in pain, ignored me tearing up from the pain, then took it a second time in the same spot, without a single word. She truly had the worst bedside manner I've ever seen in a nurse and I was horrified by her attitude. She literally made me cry, and lacked any form of compassion. LUCKILY, the PA and Dr. Valentine were kind and informative, which made the visit more pleasant.

Performed assigned PT with limited results following removal of bursa and spur that we were assured was easy and has great results, the eventual message via PA was well, it doesn't always work. You can have more surgery if you don't like it. Left sitting in exam room for 1hr twice for post-surg followups. When asked how much longer (so could decide whether to reschedule) got a snarky We'll get to you when we get to you! from same PA. 18 mos later, limited dexterity, can't close hand.

I never actually got to see dr. Valentine because after rescheduling a 5 minute consultation with him, and being scheduled at 8:45 in the morning, the good doctor kept me waiting until 9:30 when I left in disgust. He may be a decent surgeon - but his utter lack of regard for his patients time speaks volumes about his professionalism. And I should mention that my $50 copay for the honor of waiting in his office has not been refunded.

I could not be more pleased with the work Dr. Valentine has done on my hands. He is the most friendly and professional of any Doctor I have ever dealt with. I recommended him to a friend and she just loved his work and how he took time to explain eery step of the way. She was frightened to have to the surgery done, but Dr. Valentine took the time to answer every question she had. After the surgery Dr. Valentine came out and met with us and explained what he had done and that it went as planne
