Dr Yamashiro is an excellent ER doctor
Dr Yamashiro and the ER staff handled my emergency wonderfully. They were compassionate and very professional. I felt like I was in very good hands! Mahalo to all at Kula Hospital:-)

Terrible
Was rude to me the entire ER visit. Made my husband cry and fear for my health. Seemed afraid to come in the room to even examine me when I could barely breathe and was in agonizing pain from my pneumonia. Didn’t treat me appropriately or per guideline recommendations, especially with me being from the mainland where we have different common microorganisms (I work in healthcare). Had to see a different doctor when I went home and complete a second course of antibiotics to be treated appropriately. Couldn’t sleep well for months from the pain in my lungs and took almost 6 months for my lung capacity to return. But that didn’t stop his billing agency from cleaning me out for more money beyond my general hospital bill. Came out to a total of ~$700 out of pocket for awful patient interaction and not getting treated.

Incompetent. Left a patient in pain without properly taking the time to fix the problem.
