I went to Patient First seeking immediate relief for a painful boil in my armpit, which was causing severe discomfort and preventing me from sleeping. I was very clear with the staff about what I needed: I wanted the boil drained, as it was too painful to wait for it to drain naturally. The staff understood my concerns and acknowledged the pain I was in. However, my experience with Dr. Law was completely different. When Dr. Law came in, he was dismissive and unhelpful. Despite my clear explanation of the pain I was experiencing and my request for the boil to be lanced, he refused, telling me that I "wasn’t getting it lanced tonight." When I asked why, his first response was with a very holier-than-thou attitude: "I don't do that!" Like it was beneath him. First off, in the words of Colonel Potter from MASH, that is "BULL COOKIES"! That is his job as an urgent care doctor! He hardly looked at it, didn’t even touch it, and then said it was "too small." He didn’t provide any other practical solutions and simply dismissed my concerns. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I was seeking a simple, quick procedure to address the issue. I even begged him to cut it open so I could get some relief, but he still refused. To make matters worse, he asked me with a nasty attitude, "Why didn’t you go see your primary care doctor?" When I explained that I couldn’t see my primary care doctor due to their busy schedule and lack of available appointments, Dr. Law responded in a rude and completely unprofessional manner. He told me I should "find a new primary care doctor if mine was too busy." This comment was not only unnecessary but also disrespectful and extremely hurtful. My primary care doctor has been incredibly helpful as I have a lot of medical issues, and he’s one of the only doctors who has actually cared enough to help me through my conditions. I didn’t expect to be criticized and bullied for trying to manage my health with the resources available to me. I left the clinic without any help or relief and felt I was forced to take matters into my own hands and try to handle it myself—something that was both dangerous and frustrating. While Dr. Law prescribed me antibiotics and painkillers, the pain and discomfort were preventing me from sleeping, which I had already told him was a priority for me. He should have focused on addressing my immediate need for relief. Instead, I was left with a prescription for pills that did nothing to resolve the issue at hand and didn’t help me sleep. Dr. Law’s lack of empathy and refusal to assist me in my time of need was both disappointing and hurtful. I went to Patient First expecting to receive urgent care for a painful and bothersome boil, but instead, I left feeling dismissed, unheard, and still in pain. Having to take care of it myself was not only unsafe but also completely avoidable had Dr. Law done his job and provided the proper care I asked for. After trying to drain it myself, I thought I did something wrong, so I went to the ER to have it looked at. The Physician Assistant was flabbergasted at the "care" I had received from Dr. Law. Not only was his refusal to drain it, which he should have done, baffling, but the PA asked what antibiotics Dr. Law gave me. When I told him, his response was, "Oh heck no." Apparently, the antibiotics Dr. Law gave me were not only too weak for my boil, but they could also hurt my stomach. When I told the PA that I informed Dr. Law about my stomach problems and that he gave me those meds anyway, the PA couldn’t believe it. The PA gave me a better antibiotic and a slightly stronger painkiller, as he said that ibuprofen wasn’t going to be enough, and Dr. Law should have never prescribed those meds and should have drained my boil. The PA also said that I shouldn’t have drained it myself but understood that Dr. Law had essentially backed me into a corner, and I didn’t know what else to do. In spite of that, I had done a really good job draining it. When I went to Patient First, I had arrived at 6:50 pm and was the second person taken back. They were not busy, yet he didn’t come look at me until 7:55 when they closed at 8. He hardly looked at me and was done with me in less than 5 minutes. He was more concerned with going home than taking the very short amount of time it would have taken to drain it, listen to me, and prescribe better medication. On that day, Dr. Law broke his Hippocratic Oath seven ways from Sunday, as he surely broke "do no harm" and committed malpractice! Not only did he not drain my boil as he should have, but he also prescribed medication that made me really sick on top of my existing conditions, which I warned him about. The PA at the ER wanted to put me on better medication BEFORE he even knew about my existing stomach problems, and when I told the PA, he said that, on top of that, it makes that medication even more harmful to me. Not only was it ineffective, it was harmful. Dr. Law needs to learn to listen to his patients and have more empathy and understanding and maybe needs to update himself with medical books as, according to the PA, he should have known not to give me those medications. Had I not gone to the ER and continued taking the medication Dr. Law prescribed, who knows how sick I would have gotten. As an hour after I left the ER before I could take the new meds, I got extremely sick, and it felt really different from my normal conditions. I would not recommend Dr. Law based on my experience. I hope that future patients at Patient First receive the care and professionalism they deserve, as I did not feel that my needs were taken seriously. I went to be treated, and not only was I not treated properly, I was also given medication that made me worse. Please do not go see this man! He will not listen and can make your situation worse than it already is, as he is way too self-absorbed and high and mighty. He was way more concerned with going home than providing me proper medical care. If I had to describe Dr. Law, I’d compare him to a cross between two doctors from MASH. He is a horrible doctor like Frank Burns and has the high-and-mighty attitude of Charles Emerson Winchester III. As Hawkeye famously said to Major Burns, “We begged him to do the decent thing”—I begged Dr. Law to do the decent thing, and just like Burns, he refused to do the decent thing. Dr. Law also mirrored Major Winchester, who said, “I don’t know how to make it clearer. I do not do that.” Just as Winchester’s arrogance led him to dismiss tasks he deemed beneath him, Dr. Law’s refusal to help with a simple procedure, paired with his "I don’t do that" response, reflected the exact same level of disdain for the job he’s supposed to do. In conclusion, I would never want anyone to be subjected to the cruel, inhumane, unprofessional, un-Hippocratic behavior of Dr. Law. Please find better care elsewhere for your own sake.

Dr. Law listens to the patient and asks appropriate questions to learn more. He is professional and very considerate. He has been my primary care doctor for almost 10 years and he has earned my trust.

Dr. Law really listened to what I was saying. For the first time in a very long time, I was talking to a physician who was interested in what I was saying, and in getting a solution rather than in going through some insurance-prescribed checklist of what he needed to tell/ask me.

I was experiencing a foot problem and postpartum anxiety (which turned out to be a result of dysautonomia). After discussing my foot problem, I had the courage to share my anxiety and even burst into tears. Dr. Law looked stricken (disgusted?) and said, "I don't have time for anxiety." It was a shocking lack of professionalism and basic human empathy. Doctors should not practice family medicine unless they "have time" for all this entails.

Went for a 2 week follow up and was feeling same as when I came in initially. Was told by Dr. Law that there was nothing he can do for me, that I need to go to a specialist. That I am presenting with the same issues (going on three weeks now) and he cant help me. I told him I had the side effects of the medication I was given during my initial visit. He said it doesn't matter since that is what I came in for initially. Very dismissive and made me feel I was wasting his time.
