Dr. Brian Fissel, MD

I had to wait about 20 minutes, but after that, the staff was efficient and friendly. Dr. Fissel took a lot of time with me to explain everything in great detail and answer all of my questions.

Aside from a very long wait, I’ve been pleased with the care I’ve received from this office. I’ve seen pics of scars from my particular surgery and mine will definitely look much nicer!

Friendly office staff, short wait time, and an excellent experience with Jihan (my apologies if the spelling is incorrect)! She was kind, caring, knowledgeable, and super engaged in supporting me. She provided treatment options and supports my decision. I feel very lucky to have found this practice!

Would never use him again. Saw him once and all he/they did was watch my broken hip heal. Passed him in the office most visits, but he didn't have sense enough or the common courtesy to speak to his own patient. Only saw a PA or maybe an NP a few times over a few months. Staff was less than proficient. X-ray staff uncaring that my hip was broken or the pain I was going through each time they got me. Wait-time, too long, every time. Apparent poor management, or too many patients, or both. Got my hip fixed eventually, but had to go to a Washington U. physician who was excellent and got my mobility back. And to the folks that gave Fissel the accolades... nothing near the guy I saw and observed.

Very good doctor, top notch. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer than you should but if you want the best care possible you’ll wait. He handles all of the tougher cases.

This was my second visit and I still waited almost two hours. I was never seen by Dr. Fissel. Both times I was seen by his PA, Ms. Jihan Clay. I wish they had shorter wait times and I could actually see the doctor.

I would never recommend this office and I’ve never even been a patient. Unorganized, unprofessional, ridiculous wait times, overly filled waiting rooms, some rude staff (probably because they are dealing with VERY frustrated patients!). Thank God my husband only has two knees! I pray we never need to go back. We’ll definitely look elsewhere if so.

I had my first followup at Dr. Fissel's office on 5/10/23 after surgery following a fractured femur. ALL of the staff, including PA, nurse, xray tech and front office staff were very kind and very efficient. I would highly recommend Dr. Fishel and his staff. Dr. Fissel is a very kind man and a true patient advocate.

I met Dr. Fissel when my doctor recommended him for my hips that were hurting. When I went there I was expecting to hear the same thing the radiologist said which was it was arthritis. Turns out I need both hips replaced. True to his word I was walking same day of surgery and home next day. I had a setback with an infected scar, no clue how it happened. I am not progresssing as fast as others but I have had a lot of surgery to my back already and only one of them went smoothly. He is making sure I am getting the care needed to keep us on track to replace the second hip in a few months. He listens and double checks his findings and makes a plan to help me gain back my mobility. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a hip replacement.

I came into mercy south emergency with a fractured right femur head.Dr Fissel and his surgical team replaced my right hip. He explained everything about the surgery and the replacement in detail. I was up walking the next day! Amazing!He visited me during my recovery and said the surgery went great with no complications. I was also seen by Theresa Boxdorfer, his assistant, who was absolutely fantastic! I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Fissel to my family or friends. He’s just that good! It’s been 5 weeks since surgery and I am doing well with in home care! Thanks Dr Fissel and Theresa Boxdorfer!

Everyone was so nice and very knowledgeable and it was a busy time for them too.

Dr. Fissel did both of my knee replacements, and he did an outstanding job. I also saw him recently for inflammation and as usual was very professional and helped me. I would highly recommended Dr. Brian Fissel. He is the best!

Right leg hip replacement at first I was no pleased because it was popping out of place finally a total replacement was done, I don't understand why it had to keep being popped back in before the total replacement was done still doing exercises

About to have my 4th surgery with Dr Fissel. I have had 2 knee scoped and I have scheduled my LTKR. He already did my RTKR. As an RN who is a patient of his I highly recommend him.

Needed Hip Replacement after two years of suffering. Made it happened. Scheduled quickly Staff is professional, caring and very knowledgeable Thank you Dr and and staff Never been so happy to have surgery. :). :)

I thought my appointment was to see Dr Fidel, it I didn’t get the opportunity to see him. Instead I saw his nurse practitioner Terry. I have been to this practice before and had surgery under Dr Kriegshauser. My. Knees have gotten worse. X rays were taken and Terry came in to deliver the blunt news that I am bone on bone, I need knee replacement on both knees. Since I had a recent cortisone shot surgery would gave to wait 6 months from any shot and that Mercy South had a hold on knee replacement surgeries. The delivery was blunt and non caring. I assumed either Terry had a bad day or is near retirement and just doesn’t care anymore. I had to ask about other shots available. Terry says she would check with my insurance. I left the office bummed out and wondering why I’d even come if I couldn’t see the dr or get any helpful information. I called 5 minutes later and asked for ask me scheduling info and Terry called back next day saying could schedule in 3 months. I won’t be back

Came in for knee pain. Had been going with my wife since 4/2011 many surgeries on her legs. When my knee got to the point I had to seek treatment, no other name was thought of. Very knowledgeable, skilled at surgery. I won't trust another Doctor

I have had surgery twice with Dr Fissell.....always on time and professional. Office staff are also friendly and professional.
