Any reviews that are deemed fraudulent or violate our guidelines will be removed immediately.

All reviews are confirmed and audited before publication, and community members have the ability to flag inappropriate content for further review by our team.

Dr. Lahey did not listen to my needs and laughed at my concerns. He continued to push medications that I felt were not working. Glad his license has been suspended.

When I told him I have PTSD he made me recount EVERY detail of my s*xual assault. He attempted to psychoanalyze me every visit. The visits were typically 45 minutes to an hour long. He also asked me to “tone down” my appearance. I guess he thought it would help my mental illnesses? All in all I had a horrific experience with him. Sadly it lasted YEARS as I was unable to easily find another psychiatrist that was a good fit. I truly hope no one ever has to go through what I went through with this man.

Most of my adult life I have made a lot of decisions on reading reviews. Choosing Dr. Lahey has been one of the few times that I have made a decision without reading the reviews first and very pleased. I have been a patient of his for a few years and can say he has helped me in many ways. If you have concerns in the medication that he is prescribing you then discuss it. My medical condition was not developed over night, I don`t expect to be healed over night.

Just a glorified drug dealer. He doesn’t care about helping you. He just wants you in and out super quick. doesn’t even make sense with his metaphorical Mumbo jumbo. I’m *still* confused about what he told me. Even when I show up on time he makes me wait for an hour or more. Making an appointment is impossible because of his “text line”. Don’t waste your time with him. He made my situation worse, then proceeded to ignore me. I genuinely believe he should get his medical license taken away.

I saw him Dr. Lahey in need of help and after an hour and a half appointment (mostly with him rambling about his own philosophies) he wouldn't prescribe me anything. He is disconnected from reality and takes a bizzare, conservative approach to disorders, thinking that they are 100% caused by the environment and 100% curable. Which is problematic because he thinks his psychotherapy is the solution. He's wrong. That's why we have science and medicine.

My appointment with Dr. Lahey was a nightmare. I left his office more broken than fixed. For an hour and a half we discussed how my anxiety affected my child and then in the last the minutes he prescribed me a 700$ medication. He was condescending (I'm nearly 30 and he used to toys to dictate a scenario to me). He never followed up. I have sought other care and the experience is like night and day. Stay away. Stay far away.

Cannot get in touch with him or his office! They only allow text messages or emails...first time I have an emergency for my child and I cannot get a response---2 days now. Had to call the nurse to a different doc in his office to beg for help---then all I got was an I will look into it! Still no help in adjusting my sons meds!

It was awful. This man literally should not be allowed to see mental health patients. It is dangerous and irresponsible to do so.

Dr. Lahey is a great and kind Dr. and he honestly cares about his patients and their needs. Dr. Marissa Lahey is also a very kind Dr. and will help with anything you are needing and she is a great listener. I have loved coming to the Overland Park office and have for a year. I have had no issues with anything with their office and would refer all of my friends and family to them. Even the office has a relaxing environment and a wonderful calming scent everytime I go in.
