She got me tested for pelvic floor problems, did some treatment, then handed me off to other doctors because she didn't have the ability or willingness to help me further. Would not recommend a doctor who can't stand by their patient.

It took a month to see Dr. Gurland. At that point I wasn't yet ready to schedule surgery. She told me it would work for me, but I had a lot of questions still. Since I wasn't ready to schedule surgery I had to undergo a useless test, which was rather painful even though it was supposed to be painless. I did this to see her again so I could schedule surgery. So about a month and a half after I saw her the first time I saw her again, and she didn't have any time to talk to me and then said that the surgery wouldn't work for me after all. Now I'm confused about whether she ever thought it would work or not or if she was just nervous because I was asking too many questions. I am very disappointed.

There was no MRI done, which I later realized should have been done. Also, I was surprised to see a Seton placed as she never told me about this in advance. So it came as a great shock. While her staff was friendly, it was super difficult to get timely appointments. And when my situation worsened , she made a comment that atleast it's not cancer. She kept persuading me to seek out phycological counseling services. She even gave me some discount coupons for those services! Eventually, I ran out of patience with her non-serious approach and switched to a different hospital/doctor. And fully recovered after first surgical intervention, which made me resent the horrible experience she made endure for about 6 months. Such doctors / non-serious approaches shouldn't be accepted in elite hospitals.

I went to Dr. Gurland after having surgery by another physician who was not able &/or willing to follow up with problems resulting from that surgery. She was able to get me in and take care of my problems. She is confident, caring, reassuring, has a sense of humor and is very competent. She understood the pain I was in and took immediate steps to correct the problems. Her staff is of the same caliber. I highly recommend her.
