Dr. Bruce Kahn, MD

Many thanks to Dr. Kahn and staff. He has helped me with several issues over the years including minor surgery seven years ago. I recovered quickly from the surgery and it greatly increased my quality of life. I came back to Dr. Kahn after reading a review that mentioned he does trigger point injections for pelvic pain. I am so glad I did as I have had tremendous benefit from receiving the trigger point therapy and also installations. I have been able to get into the appointments timely which is a huge blessing after coming from another office that would take forever to get any appointments. He is a very skilled physician and I would highly recommend him and his office staff. They have run on time for every single visit and I've received great care!!!!

Dr. Kahn was rushed throughout my visit. In attempting to treat my flank/back pain, he suspected my bladder could be the cause. So, he performed a treatment to my bladder using a catheter, and said I should feel better by the evening. I did not feel relief after this treatment. Rather, the next day, I started feeling UTI symptoms and reached out to a nurse in his office. She was so rude, and initially did not want to order a urinalysis for me despite my concerns of a UTI (I know what one feels like!) When she finally ordered the urinalysis, I immediately went to the closest Scripps lab to get it done. Afterwards, there was NO FOLLOW UP. I struggled with my symptoms for a few days, thinking their office would reach out to me to discuss the results of the test they had ordered for me, but no one did. So, I had to go to ANOTHER urgent care to do the same test. I paid for testing to be done twice, and was treated by the urgent care PA. Overall, I would not recommend this office.

I got a myomectomy via robotically assisted laparoscopy by Dr Khan. He is knowledgeable, patient, reassuring, confident and positive. The last three qualities are what made me comfortable to go ahead with the surgery with him. I had a 15cm* 14cm fibroid which weighed 1200 grams in my abdomen area! Multiple doctors told me to get it removed and that they recommend a C-section type incision to get it out since it was so big. However Dr Kahn recommended to do it via Laparoscopy which is much less invasive. He explained the whole procedure to me, answered all my questions, was very friendly and assured me that he could get the huge fibroid out without a problem (and that's exactly what happened). I recovered within 2 weeks (which is what was told to me) and now feel perfectly fine to do all daily activities. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately, I was misdiagnosed by Dr Kahn. He preformed surgery on me without knowing what was wrong, and insisted it was my only option. When I came back to see why the surgery didn’t work, he said he didn’t know what to do and gave me no explanation, leaving me botched and confused. Thankfully, I went to another doctor who properly diagnosed me, and I am now receiving proper treatment. I had an extremely awful experience with him and wanted to share.

I had surgery with Dr. Kahn 4 weeks ago. He explained everything, listened to my questions & concerns. Surgery went very well and I am very pleased with the outcome. Dr. Kahn is excellent at what he does!

I have had excellent experiences with Dr Kahn -from office visits, to surgery to follow up post-op calls and visits. Most importantly, I had amazing results with the robotic hysterectomy performed by Dr. Kahn and Dr. Woo. Dr Kahn has decades of experience; he is quick to assess, put together a treatment plan and execute it! As a busy woman, I can appreciate that. This operation was long overdue and had been (dis)missed by other Mds. I have endured years of suffering with 'female issues' that have impacted my quality of life so I'm thrilled that he and his team at Scripps were able to take such great care of me. Wonderful physician/practice! I flew back to the USA to see my PCP for an acute onset of an issue. After a complete hysterectomy in 2004 because of endometrial & breast cancer, I didn't know what could possibly be causing these symptoms. My PCP immediately recommended Dr. Kahn's practice, and they saw me the next day. I didn't think my problem would be OB/GYN however Dr. Kahn is the BEST physician. He diagnosed the problem immediately and after two visits, I'm well on my way to recovery. What is amazing is his care, manner, he explained everything, he asked questions and I was so comfortable. I know selecting an OB/GYN is also a difficult decision. When my kids were born (late 80's), we didn't have a chance to select OB physicians at the military bases. I can only say if any women have an opportunity to select a OB/GYN, please consider Dr. Kahn! I would not have trusted anyone else in CA to perform major gynecological surgery but Dr Kahn. He is very competent and sticks to what he knows is the best outcome for his patients. When it comes to “going under the knife” my first priority is having confidence in the surgeon. If you are searching for a physician that will tell you the truth and do what needs to be done Dr Kahn is the man.

When I first met Dr. Kahn, I knew I was in good hands. Not only is he very knowledgeable and highly experienced, he truly is passionate with what he does and really cares about his patient’s concerns. Before my surgery was scheduled, he was very quick with reading my test results and understanding my health history leading me to see him for immediate surgery. He was really good at explaining and answering all my concerns about my surgery which put me at ease. During my surgery, I was amazed by his team of doctors and nurses that supported him as well. After my surgery, I experienced very little pain and was back to normal in a few days. I admire his style which is figuring out the least invasive procedure and using enhanced recovery after surgery plan. Overall, my experience under his care is absolutely exceptional. Thanks to him and his supportive doctors, nurses and staff, I healed and recovered quicker than I thought I would have. He really is one of the best doctors.

Dr Kahn and his nurse Belinda are amazing! They really gave me my life back by diagnosing my condition, performing surgery and terrific follow up. Competency and caring are off the charts!

I specifically sought a doctor within my insured network, with expertise in pelvic pain and discomfort. After researching, I recognized Dr. Kahn as not only an accomplished seasoned OBGYN, but also having obtained certification in the subspecialty of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Wanting the best for myself, he was my ultimate choice for care in resolving my issues. It was the right choice. I opted for surgery, which went very smoothly and was surprisingly tolerable. The office operates efficiently; everyone was friendly, as well as reliable with follow-up. I appreciate they respect and value your time, posting a chart of each doctors status so you know of any delays. Throughout my visits I didn't witness any. I'm thoroughly pleased with the results of my surgery, having recovered beautifully with VERY little post surgical discomfort. I was amazed how well it all went. I'm grateful I landed in the hands of the right surgeon to maneuver my challenge.

It's difficult to put into words how grateful I am to have ended up in Dr. Kahn's office last week! I have suffered severe lower left chronic pain since a tubal ligation in Nov, '15. Ended up having a hysterectomy in Mar, '16 which relieved the pain for 5 months. When the pain returned, it was constant but bearable. 3 months ago, the pain became debilitating! In and out of the ER, UC, & countless appt's! 2 CT's, x-rays, 2 colonoscopys, & 2 MRI's (Couldn't complete the first one because of the pain). Not one doctor could figure it out! Some thought I had pulled a muscle & some suspected IBS. Once again, I had to start from scratch. I saw a new primary & it was her PA that referred me to Dr. Kahn. I was able to see him the next day & within 5 MINUTES, he diagnosed the cause of my pain (ilioinguinal nerve)! He then confirmed with a nerve test & treated me on the spot with a nerve block. I am pain free and got my life back!! He is a great doctor and Belinda is also amazing!

After experiencing pelvic pain for several years and visiting many different doctors who told me nothing was wrong with me, I luckily found Dr. Bruce Kahn. Within the first 10 minutes of my exam, he knew I had interstitial cystitis and pudendal neuralgia. The IC was confirmed by a cystoscopy and the pudendal neuralgia was confirmed by severe pain with pressure on the pudendal nerve. Dr. Kahn helps me to relieve this pain with pudendal nerve blocks, bladder installations, and other medications.

My mother went to dr. Kahn for lifting her bladder back in place with pessary. It was 100 percent successful and no problems at all. A very simple, in office procedure. Highly recommended for anyone with this problem.

I cannot say enough about Dr Kahn and his staff. I was worried and in pain. Dr. Kahn returned my call, and the staff was able to schedule an appointment. Leigh Cataldo diagnosed me correctly and Dr Kahn was able to treat me. Dr Kahn was efficient, gentle and his treatment worked! Leigh actually held my hand during the procedure and helped to distract me with laughter. His nurse, Belinda was informative and even remembered me! Dr Kahn is a gifted physician sounded by an amazing team.

Dr. Kahn failed to remove an ovarian cyst on my right side (the one inflicting the most pain & symptoms) despite having access to my ultrasound results revealing a cyst on the right side. He only removed 2 cysts on my left side because he claimed he didn’t “see” any on my right. Now, I have an appt scheduled with another OBGYN and face a potential surgery to finish the job Dr. Kahn didn’t. He needs to listen to his patients more (my recurring complaints about my right side pain were disregarded)

Dr. Kahn came to my rescue. He directly contacted my insurance company to advocate for me after I was denied surgery by my insurance through two other doctors. He performed my hysterectomy. From pre-surgery to post-surgery, Dr. Kahn was incredibly professional. He explained the process clearly and attended to all my questions. He has a comfortable bedside manner that put me at ease. I appreciate that he is up to date on available technology and is comfortable using it. I highly recommend.

Dr. Kahn recently did my complete (radical) Da Vinci Robotic Hysterectomy. I went home about 3 hours after the surgery! Truly amazing! The recovery has been almost instant, with no pain afterwards. (And this was a big surgery!) I'm now 3 weeks post surgery and doing fantastic. This 60 year old gal is so glad to have had this done and bring an end to years of dealing with so many issues.
