He has the bedside manners of a rock. Rude, rushed, condescending. Silly me I thought people went in to medicine to help people. His staff was unresponsive to requests from me AND my pharmacy for med refills.During my telemedicine call he baisically told me to,leave his staff alone and get used to this bad treatment. It’s where medicine is going. I called because I had some pretty painful, symptoms and needed advice. I received a call back 8 days later with no useful suggestions whatsoever.

Condescending and dismissive
I should have read these reviews before I saw Dr. Salzberg. Not sure what happened... all good reviews seem to be from 2020 and before. I visited him because I've been dealing with something for 1.5 years and he was very dismissive. He claimed it was muscoskelatal and said there was nothing I could do. I was insistent because that did not make sense and I knew that wasn't the problem. He was so rude, insensitive and condescending and made me feel awful. He eventually relented and agreed to do a test for my gallbladder. I have to see him again for the results but will find another doctor if I need to continue care for something GI related.

Dismissive/insensitive
My son (23) has autoimmune disease (lupus/mctd) with debilitating gastro symptoms for the last year (esophageal dysmotility, intestinal pain and severe nausea) and some autoimmune antibodies that could potentially attack liver (but havent). Before we made the appointment, i spoke to the office and they spoke to the doctor about my son’s diagnoses and asked if he would see him. We were told yes. We had all records faxed. On appointment day, the doctor came in. Thankfully, we brought records because they didnt have them in the system. The doctor was very offputting, asking why we were even there. Though I think he was honest in that there wasnt really anything more he could do for my son that rheumatology wasnt already doing, he was very impatient, very insensitive, and very dismissive. My son cried all the way home.

Don’t bother to see him
I wish I would’ve seen these reviews before seeing Dr. Salzburg. He just patted me on the back and said good luck you’re gonna have to live with this rest of your life. I went for a second opinion and my life is changed. I don’t care if he was rude or intolerant, I just wanted good quality care which I did not receive. I told my internist to start referring people to him, certainly not helping his reputation

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had. He is an awful doctor (if you can even call him doctor). He is very rude, inconsiderate, dissmisive, and arrogant. He is insensitive and has little interest in caring about his patients. He was cold and abrupt when I asked questions. Very unprofessional. I would never recommend him to anyone. Please be careful.

This man is rude and condescending. He is the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. I’m fairness, I only saw him for 5 minutes because he rushed in and out. While he was in front of me he didn’t listen, didn’t appear to care, and was quite nasty. I finally found an amazing doctor to help me with my severe gastrointestinal issues. I’ll end this review by saying: reader beware of the positive reviews. I don’t believe for a second that an actual patient wrote those!

If you have inflammatory bowel disease and can’t get it under control, you need to see Dr. Salzburg. He was able to get my ulcerative colitis under control when 2 other doctors had failed me. He can be straight to the point, which I think is a good thing as I have my wife for pillow talk. If there is a new drug or treatment, rest assured he will be doing the first clinical trials. He is one of the most cutting edge Gastroenterologists in the Southeast.

I have been a patient of Dr. Salzberg since 1991. He quickly diagnosed my gastroparesis that a mired of doctors over 4 years just couldn't find. He was concerned and compassionate and had the test done asap to catch it. He spent time with me and even got me on a study drug that was a life saver. I I'll stay with him as long as he remains in the St. Joseph's area.

Dr. Salzberg is by far, hands down the best Gastroenterologist in the Southeast. He spends time with you, explains everything he is doing, discusses a plan of action if one is needed. Dr. Salzberg and his team are tops when it comes to development and research. They are always seeking out new ways to help their patients heal and feel free to continue living a productive life. My entire family has at some point been a patient of Dr. Salzberg; and I am so grateful for that.

The best of the best! Can not sing his praises enough. First class physician and office staff all the way. We had a first diagnosis of a 75% colon resection in another city. Dr. Salzberg evaluated my 72 year old Dad and decided that he would take another treatment path that would be less evasive, and hopefully with less risk. It has been amazing journey and I am OVERLY grateful and thankful that we went to him for a second opinion. Will be singing his praises and recommending him to everyone

Even a one star is a stretch.. He is Inaccessible. Has no systems in place to manage chronic illness. Doesn’t even give appropriate referral information. The list goes on and on. My family member is/ was a patient. Had numerous symptoms and the provider did not even draw labs. . We have had to transition to someone who can treat chronic illness. I am not sure how this can be a gastro center of excellence when they don’t draw lab work on chronic patients. Had to go to PCP- ended up in hospital.
