I consulted with 5 Orthopedic Surgeon's, including Dr. Ozgur. He was the ONLY one who covered off all the bases, vs. jumping straight to surgery. All of the other surgeons wanted to schedule surgery asap. I truly appreciated him taking to time to exhaust all avenues before surgery. He also was very patient in explaining the procedure in detail. I had surgery on 5.2.2024 which included an interbody cage installed and an L3 L4 fusion and a laminotomy. The post op care by his nurse, Janneinne, was the best, she was available for any questions 24 7, even after I was discharged. I am 3.5 weeks out and doing fantastic. I only have a bit of soreness at the 3 incision sites and I still get a bit fatigued, but I am 100% so happy that I went ahead with the surgery. I'm out and about and enjoying life again. THANK YOU TO DR OZGUR AND HIS ASSISTANT JANNEINNE! You changed my life! Their office staff is pretty great too!

Compassionate and medically brilliant

Excellent doctor. The doctor I went to first wanted to do very invasive spine surgery with plates and screws. Dr. Ozgur sent me to a neurologist, unlike the first doctor, to determine where the pain was coming from. It was not coming from the place that the first surgeon told me. I had surgery and felt almost immediate relief. I've had little pain, just weakness in my right leg, which I'm sure will be resolved once I start physical therapy. Very happy with the outcome and very pleased with the doctors conservative treatment and kind bedside manner. Also, his PA and his scheduler are wonderful.

As an old patient of Dr. Ozgur who performed a major lumbar surgery on me over six years ago, I wanted to see him about an issue last July. So I made an appointment to see him. After waiting for a month I ended up seeing only his PA who prescribed some testing. After I got my test results, I wanted to schedule a visit for him to go over the results and check my condition. At first I was told he was not available for another month due to illness and later on I tried to make an appointment and was told that he cannot see me for another extra month. As of the middle of September of this year I finally gave up and went ahead and found another doctor who was equally qualified if not better.

Navigating the vast network of doctors out there can be overwhelming, so I've been very grateful to have several doctor friends and family members who have made personal recommendations to me. For over 8 years i suffered chronic sciatic pain. Debilitating nerve pain into my foot, calf and thigh. I had been dismissed and shut down by so many doctors and practitioners- that I’ve lost count. Dr. Ozgur performed back surgery on me two weeks ago. It was completely successful and I've made a complete recovery. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Ozgur, his PA and his office staff. When you are meeting with Dr. Ozgur in his office, you have his total attention and he is completely focussed on you and your problem. His PA is in the room taking notes the entire time, so he doesn't have to. Every time I reached out to his office, both before and after the surgery, even after hours, his PA always returned my calls, one time pulling to the side of the road to call me back! The office has always done everything they said they would do. They are very compassionate people. Dr. Ozgur has a very big reputation in Newport Beach, and it is certainly very well deserved!

I had c6/7 fusion 8 wks ago and couldn’t be more thrilled with Dr. Ozgur and staff. I was admitted to the hospital with numbness and weakness in all extremities (hands were like claws sometimes and my legs were very heavy) and was told by the neurosurgeon on call I needed surgery stat. The on-call surgeon did not get great reviews, so despite advice, I left the hospital and luckily got an apt. with Dr. Ozgur. I had complications from a previous c4-6 disc replacement 5 yrs prior (my vocal cord was injured and I lost my voice; I got another surgery to repair it) so I did not want to settle for my second cervical spine surgeon. Now for the good part- this surgeon and staff (TY Janine! And Bernice and team!) are pure excellence! They are honest, supportive, and very skilled. Dr. Ozgur gave me my life back. I am an active 47 yo- yoga teacher, mom, and nurse and I have NO pain, numbness, or weakness. I am religious with P.T. and getting strong again. Exponentially grateful,Dr. O!

I would like to share a GREAT experience with Dr. Ozgur and his staff. For many years I have suffered from lower back and neck pain. Several months ago the pain became severe with my left leg going numb and my right leg burning. Looking for recommendations Dr. Ozgur's name repeatedly came up as the best of the best! My initial consultation was a bit scary as I was informed I would need four surgeries. Two on my lower back and two on my neck to fuse C-3 through C-7. Dr. Ozgur further explained that although one of the discs in my lower back was bulging 14mm my neck was far more serious and needed immediate surgery! The staff was amazing getting everything arranged, answering many questions and putting all of my concerns to rest. Dr. Ozgur did the front of my neck on Tuesday and the back on Thursday. I was released from the hospital on Friday. (The staff at Hoag all raved about Dr. Ozgur). The first two weeks were a bit tough but I bounced back quickly after that! I was back to work on

Dr. Ozgur is very thorough and he is patient with all of my many questions. After his explanations he suggests available options and guides the patient through the decision making process for possible next steps. I appreciate his diligence, and his staff is very on top of things with preparation and follow-up. A very good experience all around!

Dr. Ozgur and his team are the best! It has been over 1 month since my microdiscectomy/laminotomy and my intense sciatic pain I used to experience down my leg is gone. Amazing! I was suffering for months from having disc herniation of 0.9mm at L4-5 along with spinal stenosis, but I am now able to walk and drive with no difficulties. Dr. Ozgur took the time to explain and answer all my questions before and after the surgery. I felt I was in good hands throughout the entire process and can’t thank him and his staff (i/c Taehee, Yulia) enough for the quality care I received.

It has been two months post-op and I am able to jog for the first time in three years thanks to Dr. Ozgur! I had an excellent experience from initial consultation to final outcome. After years of back pain and numbness, I was recommended to see Dr. Ozgur for my spinal stenosis and to discuss minimally invasive surgery. I immediately found him to be professional and friendly. Cannot say enough about the care, consideration, preparation and precision of Dr. Oz & his remarkable team!! The best team captain attracts & leads other stars and that was surely this case. For ten years I suffered from increasing pain in the lower back and buttocks spreading into thighs and lower legs, which became so intense that I could only stand in hunched position and barely walk anymore. Diagnosis: herniated disc at L4-L5 and lumbar spinal stenosis. Countless Physical Therapy sessions, traction therapy, epidural injections and pain relief drugs did not bring sustained help. Absolutely THE BEST spine surgeon around. My oldest son at 16 consulted Dr. Ozgur four years ago for disc herniation issues. We were advised to try every conservative route possible which we did but after 4 continuous years of pain and degeneration Dr. Ozgur felt it was time to do disc fusion. I can not tell you how absolutely terrific the surgery went with minimal pain and discomfort for my son. He was up and walking after having three discs fused three hours after surgery. Dr. Ozgur his PA Jordan and Yulia his office manager are top notch. I recently had surgery for cervical fusion C3-C6. I am still recovering and started physical therapy. Dr. Ozgur is a fantastic surgeon and Jordan his PA has been great with post operative follow up, answering all of my questions and concerns. Yulia is so professional and arranged my pre-surgery and post-surgery tests and procedures. I am so thankful in that I decided on Dr. Ozgur and his team.
