Cold as ice
While I believe Dr. Anderson is a good surgeon, however not compassionate at all. When you are dealing with patients that have just been diagnosed with cancer, a little compassion goes a long way. Also don’t you dare question her, she will label you as crazy. When asked if I wanted to go ahead and schedule surgery my response was I don’t know, since this is ,according to her, a rare and very aggressive cancer, I asked if I should get a second opinion with a specialist at some place like Sloan Kettering. Her response was not, if that makes you feel more comfortable then yes you should definitely go and get a second opinion, but instead list of all her credentials and very indignant attitude. The cancer is gone, so for that I am thankful. Side note, she has also told me 2 Things that were completely wrong. Slightly outside of her specialty but instead of saying, I don’t know anything about that, I was told those don’t work when I have papers from MD Anderson saying the exact opposite

An experienced, kind, and caring surgeon
On October 17, 2023 I had out-patient surgery in Danbury, Connecticut on my left breast by Dr. Carinne Anderson. The surgery was called a lumpectomy. The surgery was necessary because of a suspicious finding in my left breast following my annual routine mammogram in August. Repeat mammograms and ultrasounds and a biopsy confirmed the need for surgical intervention to discover the status of that granulomatous mass, whether or not it was malignant. Dr. Anderson performed the breast surgery. She is an experienced, skilled surgeon, and I had no pain or complications following the surgery. Thank God, the mass was found to NOT be malignant. Dr. Anderson is a kind individual, as well as being a talented surgeon, and I give her five stars for excellence. Everyone in her Danbury office was courteous and professional, and everyone at the Danbury Duracell Center where I had the surgery done was also kind, caring, solicitous, friendly, and professional. I appreciated all of them!

Mixed
I saw Dr. Anderson for a consult on a neoplasm of the left breast. Dr Anderson first spoke to me about my treatment options while I was sitting in her massively hot, really small exam room wearing a gown that was too small. That is not a good way to present information. The day of the surgery I was called to come in earlier than planned. I had to scramble to arrive early. However, the other folks necessary for the procedure weren’t available, so I had to wait a long time, presumably while the key guy showed up at the originally scheduled time. And it still took a long time. No one updated me. That was stressful. These delays meant I woke up after surgery long after the day staff had left. Dr Anderson left without saying anything at all to me or the friend who brought me. That was pretty awful. The good news is that the lumpectomy had good margins. I had very little pain. I could easily have gone to work the next day. I only have a scar about an inch long under my arm.

Good surgeon but poor compassion & communication
Dr. Anderson, while a good surgeon, was not compassionate and the communication was poor. I was left going through, from my diagnosis to my surgery, feeling like I was not sure what was going on and what was happening next. It was a horrible feeling when you are going through cancer. I was made to feel like I was an annoyance when I had questions and clarification. I would not recommend her based on her, and her staff's, lack of communication and compassion.

Competent and compassionate
Dr Anderson provided me with excellent care. I had both a lumpectomy and a mastectomy. She explained everything about my condition and answered every question I had. I trust her. Her staff is kind and supportive and always available to answer questions. I couldn’t ask for better care.

She’s either completely incompetent or a full fledged liar- neither of which you want as doctor. I do NOT recommend her to anyone. The Dyson Center should be embarrassed that they hired someone this bad. The last thing you need to be worrying about with a cancer diagnosis is whether your doctor knows their stuff or not. Extremely disappointed.

This is the best Doctor I have been to in years and I would highly recommend her for breast surgery. She was very comforting, explained everything I needed to know, very knowledgeable, and her staff is friendly and sweet. She did a fantastic job for me and recovery was fast. If you need breast cancer surgery, this is the doctor you want to see.
