MY CLINICAL FRIEND FOR 15-PLUS YEARS
Dr Scalia has kept me healthy for over 15-years. He is really good with primary care issues and beyond. He never takes notes, but listens intensely, never misses a thing, and ensures whatever malady you present him with is taken care of expeditiously. He got me off medications that were not good for me, and is always there when I need him. He keeps a busy schedule, but always answers my messages. I will say that he wants me to adhere to strict controls of blood sugar, pressure, and other vitals, but that is only because he wants me to be okay. He is my junior, and sometimes I have a hard time with his approach - even though I know "Father Knows Best".

Jan 4 2022 Today was the first day for my appointment with Dr Scalia and his staff. This medical group is outstanding. They ALL went out of their way to take care of me, and in a timely manner. I am very happy that I picked Dr Scalia, his Practioner, and his staff as my Primary Care Provider, and would recommend them as a 5 Star medical Group. Thank you very much for all your help today.

Avoid the Galt Ocean location!!! The girl behind the desk as initial point of contact is horrible. She has no social skills and should not be client facing. She is absolutely the wrong fit for a social setting. No comment about the doctor, because I never saw him due to the lack of customer service attempted by the "receptionist." She was more than happy to charge my credit card and insurance, even before seeing the doctor.

This doctor's demeanor is actually insulting. His office staff are inattentive and blame all problems on the "galt ocean office." My insurance company rejected a medication and required more info from Dr. Scalia. After FIVE phone calls, I never got a response. I finally went back to his office and was told that I had to make an appointment. I went to an urgent care office and the doctor called the insurance company while I was there. Done. Easy call - prescription approved.

I have to say the first time I met Dr Scalia actually the only time I met him I was thoroughly impressed. He did a makeup on me and it was the most comprehensive one I've had. The problem was not with him it's with his office I scheduled three appointments and none of them were met he was either at another location or it just couldn't happen. I've been waiting 3 months for my file and I just spoke to someone that seem like they're actually going to send it to me I'm in the process of finding a new doctor not because he was an awesome but because his stuff is completely incompetent!

I echo the same as many other patients. I was the first scheduled patient, and yet there still was a 35 minute wait. There is no respect for patients' time. Additionally, the exam was not even conducted by the doctor, rather, his P.A. If I wanted to go to someone without medical school training and years of experience, I would have gone to a walk-in clinic. I truly think that some doctors that emply P.A.'s are lazy. After the P.A. concluded the exam, she relayed her findings to him when he entered my room. Why doesn't the doctor be a doctor?

I just want to clarify a recent review I submitted on dr. Scalia. I really like this doctor and his medicine. He has always treated me well and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend him BUT his office staff is the very worse and because of them I am choosing to go to another doctor. I wish he would leave this practice so I could continue under his care.

Dr. Scalia is a caring and competent doctor. He was recommended to me by a friend who is a doctor. I have been seeing Dr. Scalia for 3-4 years. The office is chaotic and understaffed. There is no way to call by phone to request a refill, or ask Dr. Scalia call you back. They tell you he will, but it never happens. If a pharmacy calls the office for a refill, they don't call the pharmacy back. I wish he worked somewhere else.

While I appreciate Dr. Scalia and his own demeanor and caring, his office is completely out of control and does not follow through. I was promised callbacks 3 days in a row to keep a process moving for more testing. I never received the calls, and then found out the test results were not reviewed for 4 days. After multiple calls, once the tests were pulled, I was able to schedule my MRI in 2 hours . The office's inefficiency has cost me another full week of really bad pain. Time for a new DR

I’m shocked by some of the negative reviews. Dr Scalia has always given me full attention and care and he dedicated more time than I’m sure was allotted for me on those particular occasions when I needed it. Do not confuse his calm and low key demeanor for apathy. He is genuine. Like all doctors currently, he is probably swamped with insurance requirements and associated documentation.

I thought the negative reviews could have been a little over done. Well, they’re not. Dr. Scalia displayed insensitivity towards me. The office is in a rush. His office manager, Janet, does not follow through with promises. She will apologize over and over, but evidently does not own a note pad. I’m extremely disappointed. They have more patients that they can handle effectively. I would suggest to continue looking through your insurance company’s list of providers or ask for a recommendation.

I had a bad experience with dr scalia, and I decided to withdraw as a patient after 3 months at his care.He is always in a rush, doesnt spend time explaining delicate conditions, and got angry when I asked questions about my condition which was serious. I dont recommend him. Poor Service.

He is a Dr. not your friend and as with most Dr. offices these days. Yes you wait and wait and wait. Name one General practice Dr. they take you right away. I have been with Dr. Scalia for over a decade since my 30's. When I had no insurance he still saw me for a very modest fee. He has always had my best interests at heart. Is he the most outgoing Dr. .. no but that's not what he is seeing you for, he is seeing you to help make you better and who couldn't be better at calling people back ??

The office staff was nice enough when I was there. Later, in order to get more information in order to cover my specific issue, my insurance company wanted to speak with the doctor. After many calls, the doctor still hadn't spoken with them. When I eventually tried to resolve this in person, I made an appointment to speak with the doctor in person, but he would not speak with me about it. I got very frustrated, but there was nothing more I could do, so I found another doctor.
