Invalidating and not receptive
Good and funny person but as a doctor she never made me feel comfortable trusting myself. Texas childrens in general is an amazing place, but Dr. Redel, well.. she was always very invalidating in the way she talked to me as a child, and it left me with lasting issues about believing my own body and pain. There were multiple times where she didn’t think anything was wrong meanwhile there was a lot of bad things happening in my body. not the best kind of attitude for a doctor to have when you have an invisible illness.

She knew my daughter for 8 years!! She always commented how "tough" my daughter was. Yet on the second colonoscopy that she performed on her, my daughter awoke in severe pain. Nothing was done for 14 hours because she didn't believe her pain. Said it was gas or spasms. Then she went into shock, 6 hour surgery, colostomy. Dr Redel never came to see her in the recovery rm after the colonoscopy, never apologized (just said "it's my first perf!") & blamed it on my child for being "too tough." Awful!
