Dr. Carolina Nelson, MD

New to Florida, I found Dr. Nelson and her office staff extremely helpful. Kind. Genuinely concerned, she spends time listening to you.

I've been a patient of Dr. Nelson's for 2 years and my wife has been a patient as well. We've had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Nelson and are glad we were able to find her when her practice was new. She's a good listener, answers our questions, and is available via emails in the portal for any non-urgent questions.

i was referred to her by a friend. after seeing her i never got an email phone call or letter saying she had moved. what happened to the transfer of my records? was it completed? i told her i was leaving my doctor downtown due to a traumatic experience downtown and wished to have a good doctor in my neighborhood. that must have not been noted. to NOT advise a new patient you were at a different location is unprofessional. i now have a great MD at the old location who already helped with an issue quickly. it was meant to be. oh.. and the day of the visit i knew i had a uti . i showed her my MICRO GEN result but still she wanted me to pee in a cup . there were NO cups .. they used a drinking cup.. not sterile to me? i was called a few days later with a clean result .. not true. i did have a very painful UTI that got worse and needed meds from another doctor.

With the exception of Sarah, frontline office staff are extremely rude, especially Alexandra who hangs up the phone on you if she's busy or if you've ever complained in the past of her poor patient relations. I have cancer and called Dr. Nelson's (my primary physician) office to arrange a blood test for treatment. Alexandra assured me she would have an appointment by a date certain but did not follow through. I contacted the office two additional times through the MyBayCare health portal and the appointment was still not made. It was never made by Dr. Nelson's office! I have no doubt Dr. Carolina Nelson either explicitly or implicitly knows of and/or condones the games Alexandra plays with patients she does not like. When the frontline administration of a professional office is allowed to act in this manner, it reflects on the doctor. I can't comment on if she is a good doctor or not but I can attest to the fact that she runs a terrible office.

Terrible front office staff. Didn't make appointments as agreed. Never called back. Hang ups by staff on Patient(s). MyBayCare health portal does not respond to questions/requests.
