medical gaslighting
Hi Dr. Spiess. After all these years I haven't forgotten about you. I was partially blind and my optometrist thought I had a stroke, not my only symptom. I was having chronic pain, migraines, light sensitivity without headaches, vision changes, vertigo, I was unable to strain my body at all with extreme pain. I couldn't pick up my son or throw a ball. After my mri came back showing no sign of a stroke you released me back to work even though I was still sick, after it took you a month to complete my fmla paperwork nearly making me late to pay my mortgage. I had to call your office manager to ask why it wasn't being done. You then treated me like I was trying to buck the system or leech off fmla, and the only reason I know that is because I had to have my husband attend our last appt. And he witnessed your attitude and treatment of me. You should know I lost three years of my life to what was a gluten allergy and gene mutation called mthfr which could leave me disabled. Beware.

I came to Dr. Spiess after my doctor retired. I came to her for a pre-op evaluation. I had been in a severe accident and my rotator cuff needed reconstruction. I was told if it did not get repair by the emergency room and by the orthopedic surgeon then I would lose use of the limb. Dr. Spiess called the hospital and cancelled my surgery 3 separate times despite she did not have admitting privileges there and I did not have health issues preventing the surgery. My surgeon argued with her and continued the surgery. Recently I had a TIA related to the accident. The same day center doctors were wonderful and attentive. Dr. Spiess called and said, your tests are normal with no further instructions. When I said my other doctor said I needed linked to a neurologist she will only refer me if I go to the one she wants me to see, not one I have a relationship and trust. Don't go to this doctor. If I could give zero stars I would.

I've been seeing her for 2 yes now and I went for high blood pressure and weight loss. She refuses to give me any meds for either diagnosis and just says no salt and try weight watchers. 2 yes with the same outcome. Switching doc today

Get a second opinion. I was told my chronic inflammation was depression when my immunlogist found its enriched white flour causing leaky gut syndrome. This doctor judged me and tild me all my symptoms were depression. She even delayed my fmla paperwork for nearly a month.
