Dr. Cecelia Madrid, MD

I had to change my PCP abruptly due to a change in my previous doctor's circumstances. From the get go I found Dr Madrid somewhat 'quirky' but after seeing her a few times, I found her to be abrupt bordering on rude, dismissive and belittling, didn't really listen, and overall I was finding myself dreading going in for my appointments. In addition, her front office staff seem to have picked up her negative traits and are also rude, dismissive and don't communicate well at all. The only positive review I can make, is that her nurse makes up for all of this. She is very friendly, professional and helpful.

During my visit with Dr. Madrid, she recommended me to see two specialists. She said that she would submit the referrals and I should receive a confirmation in 1-2 days. It's been now 4 weeks. During the 4 weeks, I've followed up with the office at least 3 times - each time they asked me the same questions (i.e. type of specialists) and told me that they are going to submit the referral requests. I called them today again and they just submitted the requests and now I have to wait another 2 weeks for the specialists office to review and approve. Absolutely unacceptable.

The office staff is a joke. They don't do their job on submitting any information to workers comp or SDI. This doctor is "always" busy to assist patient's calls or fill out forms. You have to keep calling and calling and calling. They staff hangs up on you. The doctor all she does is sends lab requests and doesn't even follow up or call back. Last time I was in her office patient's were waiting literally hours for her. She has no respect for people's time. No concideration for her patients and the staff doesn't care either. Her patient's were complaining and since they mostly speak spanish they felt there was nothing they could do. So sad!

Booked two separate appointments for a physical (among other things) and was not able to get one either time. The doctor said she didn’t believe it was necessary. I had to pay my copay each time because she didn’t perform a physical. She also prescribed me antidepressants without following up at all. The second time I went in her office staff was digitizing patient files and as a result she had no idea who I was or why I was there as she did not have access to my charts. The office comes across as disorganized and a bit careless.

The best! Listens to your issue and gives honest feedback. Always satisfied.

Excellent attention and care at Urgent Care facility. Now thinking of switching Dr so I can see her regularly. Diagnosed condition accurately. Knew just what to do and prescribe. Easy to understand and to the point. Speaks Spanish!

Great caring Doctor. She will spend a lot of time with the patient ,not like most doctors nowadays. The downfall to that is you may have to be in the waiting room for longer then usual.But I believe that level of commitment from a doctor makes the wait all worth it. Just a bring a book thats all . This my 2 Cts
