Dr. Cecilia Chu, MD

Dr. Chu delivered both of my babies and she was great throughout the whole duration of my pregnancy and aftercare. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a good OB.

It's so crazy to read the poor reviews because Dr.Chu was my doctor for many many years and I had nothing but positive experiences with her. She delivered my babies via c-section and was amazing. I had a reaction to some medication and she personally talked to me on the phone in the middle of the night to comfort me and switch my med. I miss her so much now that she is no longer at Los alamitos and have yet to find a new doctor that compares. Brilliant doctor!!! Thank you Dr.Chu for your years of dedicated service!

Dr. Chu provided the name of a Urogynecologist who was able to solve my issue with surgery. Following surgery, Dr. Chu was caring and concerned and allowed me to visit for rechecks as needed. She will be missed in Los Alamitos and wish her well wherever she goes.

The most amazing OB/GYN. If you want things straight to the point, no fluff, no BS, then Dr Chu is your gal. She didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear, she told me the things I needed to hear. She genuinely cares, but she is a busy woman, so I get if she comes off as a hardash, but if you can’t appreciate her directness towards your health, then she isn’t the doctor for you. But your body and baby will thank her in the long run.

Dr. Chu is always rushing to the next appointment because she’s money hungry and does not care about her patients. Please save yourself the trouble.

Dr. Chu delivered by daughter in 2017 and my sister in law's son in 2019, she is a great doctor, to the point but will spend the time answering any questions you may have. I wish she could deliver my next child!

Dr. Chu is the worst doctor! She is the rudest doctor I've seen and lies about what she said and did. She has no patience or care to explain anything to you as a patient and constantly lies saying she explained it multiple times when she never explained it once. I've never met a doctor as rude, uncaring, and immoral as her.

Dr. Chu is a very knowledgeable, professional, and caring doctor. Her appointments are efficient and on point. She followed up on my lab results and answered all my questions over the phone, even after the office hours. Her staffs are personable and kind. The office waiting area has a spa-like atmosphere with deem lighting and calm music, which makes me relaxed and enjoy going to her appointment. I 100% recommend Dr. Chu and her office.

Dr. Chu is absolutely a very experienced & very good doctor. She delivered my daughter in 2001 & my twin girls back in 2006. Since then she is someone special we always remember from time to time. We keep wanting to stop by to say hello and to thank her for delivering our wonderful humans:) I want her to see how wonderfully my girls have grown and I want my girls to meet again with the most wonderful doctor that help me deliver them. I was referred to Dr. Chu from another physician. I had been a long time patient of the referring Doctor so I trusted her recommendation. However, after experiencing a medical/insurance mistake by Dr. Chu and her office I would never recommend her. In the end, she billed me for an in-office procedure as "surgery" in the amount of $1k in addition to an office visit. Due to the administrative failure and incompetency of this office to correctly verify eligible benefits, I came out with a $1270 bill. The medication/device was covered but not the medical procedure to implant it. Therefore, I was left with a bill and no clear solution to rectify the mistake. This visit was in November 2019, it is now January 2020, and my insurance has (thankfully) paid the claim but Dr. Chu's office is so incompetent that they continue to harass me with invoices, the latest 1/22/20. My insurance had to call them and tell them to "back off". I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER OR HER OFFICE. SHE WILL COST YOU MONEY.

My experience with Dr. Chu has been nothing but positive. She is one of the best doctors I've ever come across. She makes me feel human and gives me straight forward answers. She's honest and kind. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her. I am so bummed she is no longer doing OB because I would love to have her deliver my babies. I will continue to see her for all of my other needs though as I really enjoy her (as you can tell lol). I don't understand all of the negative reviews! I am an RN and I have worked with and also seen a lot of bad and very average doctors and Dr. Chu is NOT one of them! She is very knowledgeable and knows what she's talking about. She answers questions I have before I even have to ask her! 100% recommend.

So glad i had her for my first and would want her for my next. Shes funny and easy going and answers questions and is patient. The billing breakdown was easy to understand and we knew what we were paying for and when ahead of time. I did not know that insurance only paid for a certain number of ultrasounds and we had an extra one to confirm gender since we found iut early. We should’ve waited until the next scheduled one but we werent told. I dont know what these bad reviews are talking about. I was never judged or felt uncomfortable or rushed during appointments. I even read bad reviews before i went to her and im glad i did not consider them.

Worst mistake EVER. She wanted to do very invasive and Risky “standard procedures” while I was still early in my pregnancy when I questioned why, she would look with such judgement because god forbid I ask questions to things I have a right to know. I went an entirely different direction thanks to her. Don’t blindly accept what is being told to you just because she’s a doctor so she can bill the crap out of you.

We chose Dr.Chu Without seeing the reviews and we never felt bad for that. She was awesomely taken care during each and every visit from the first visit till the postpartum. Unfortunately we moved to OH and missing her ??

Worst experience I have ever had with a doctor.

There is no one else I would have wanted to deliver both of my babies than Dr. Chu! So much so, that I drove 74 miles round trip from Trabuco Canyon for my second pregnancy! She is informative, patient, and downright funny! I felt safe, cared for, and 100% confident with all of her decisions during my pregnancies and deliveries. Her staff is the friendliest doctor's staff I have ever experienced, too! They all got to know me and my family over the course of my pregnancies and I miss seeing them!

Dr. Chu is one of the most informative doctors I have ever met. Sometimes I don't have my listening ears on and she doesn't mind repeating and explain what she has said. The girls in the front office I feel make the doctor and they all were friendly and gave you 100% of their time in talking with you. I am a woman in her 60s and I found it refreshing to have a doctor who was not embarrassed to talk with me about anything on my mind. She explained everything very well so you understood.

Dr.Chu is friendly, extremely attentive and thorough answering any questions or concerns.

I had to switch doctors after finding out I was pregnant because mine didnt deliver anymore. I never had a consultation with Dr. Chu before going but she and her front/back office are very nice in person and on the phone. Dr. Chu is also very nice & attentitive. She took the time during my first visit to inform me on anything to expect, etc. and always asked if I had any questions. She is funny, non judgemental, and informative. She was good during delivery too
