Waste off time and money - Rude - Snarky
I was referred by my primary whom I really like. That gave me confidence she would be equally polite and helpful. I was mistaken as Dr Valdez is short, snarky, and very condescending in her tone. The whole appointment seemed to be an inconvenience to her and it felt like she didn't want to be there. Medical I understand why she was not able to help me but she could have not done a worse job explaining or showing she cared. The next morning I even called my primary who was disappointed to hear of my experience. I could hear it in his voice that he was not surprised. Based on these reviews she is not the provider you want to see.

Waste of my time
Had student with her whom she had take my BP. He fumbled for 3-4 minutes. I was in to see her because of high BP and my pcp was not in. Dr kept asking me what meds I COULD take. Since the last supplemental rx had made me very short of breath, I was at the clinic for professional advice as to what I could take to control bp and not affect any other of my medical conditions. I learned nothing.

A very good experience. She reviewed my medical history and interviewed me thoroughly to understand my health issue and answered all of my questions. She was patient, professional, and personable.

Dr Valdez has been my primary care Doctor for the past 5 years. The past 2 years every time I go I leave there saying I am going to find another doctor. She acts like she is doing me a favor by doing her job. There are constant issues with getting my RX's refilled. She basically acts like I am a bother. The staff supporting her at UNM are just as awful. The experience is always a negative one. Time for me to find another Doctor who cares about their patients.

She needs to retire , I have been with her for 6 years and noticed over the last year or so she seems to have become bitter and treat patients awful . Her staff doesn’t like to do their jobs as well . Good luck asking for simple things like insurance authorizations or referrals that never get put in as requested by Dr Valdez .UNM Sandoval Family Medicine is very unorganized and has gone down hill over the last year or so. Stay away go to the main UNM hospital

Dr. Valdez needs to leave medicine and find something she actually wants to do for a living. She terrorized my mom and fat shamed her as well as rolled her eyes at her while the Dr. had a student in the room. My mom was so terrified to go to the doctor she ended up in the hospital. My mom will now choose urgent care doctors over her primary, but unfortunately she still has to have all her records reviewed by Dr. Valdez. So when my mom got extremely ill now a second time, Dr. Valdez was too ignorant or lazy to call my mom’s cardiologist herself to find out about changing my mom’s medicine because she was “afraid” to change anything the cardiologist had prescribed. Now my mom is in the hospital again due to Dr. Valdez’s incompetence. She is absolutely only concerned about her vanity, and self preservation than helping people. I cannot believe that a reputable hospital like UNM would keep this sham of a doctor on the staff for more than a week.

Saw Dr. Valdez last Wednesday. She attributed my tinnitus to age related hearing loss. I said I thought it was from the weather- 90 plus days of no rain have left my sinuses plugged up. I also stated I hadn't been feeling well for the last couple days. By Friday I was sick as a dog with either a viral or bacterial sinus infection. All she would have had to do was swab my nose to check. got better advice from the nurse over the phone at my healthcare company.

Not very patient oriented. I needed Rx refills, but received no support from her or her staff in getting resolution. I never did get two of my meds. Also, she seemed to be more interested in her vacation than helping me understand what I needed to do to get the diabetes under control. I finally just changed doctors. New doctor took the time to review labs and educate me on what I need to do. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I have been to her several times and each time she has been excellent. She never seems rushed and takes plenty of time to explain and to answer all my questions. You can leave messages for her and she calls back quickly. She is a doctor who truly cares about her patients and it shows.
