Bypass surgery performed unexpectedly following a treadmill test.

My husband required emergency open heart surgery. His condition was often fatal and very unusual for a young man. Dr. Purut and his team were swift and attentive. He explained the procedure needed, he even showed me photos of what they were going to do. I felt reassured. They called me every 90 minutes from the operating room to give me an update. After the procedure, he came into the waiting room and sat with me, and explained what they had done. He was very attentive throughout the week that my husband was in recovery and made rounds daily (every day for 7 days straight). He moved quickly, as I'm sure he had many other patients, but his dedication and concern for my husband's well-being was clear. The nursing staff even raved that he was the best. My husband has recovered beautifully and we are quite grateful. If I could change one thing, we would prefer to have follow-up visits with Dr. Purut instead of his PA but we also receive good care from her as well.

I had a lobectomy for lung cancer and there was nothing after surgery to help me, such as physical therapy and help with my breathing.
