Dr. Chad Ruffin, MD

After seeing two other ENT doctors for recurring sore throat causing pain and painful swallowing of food and liquids, I finally researched other ENTs to find Dr. Ruffin. I am incredibly grateful as Dr. Ruffin has outstanding patient-doctor relationship skills. As great communicator, he actively listens, explains everything very well, treats you like a partner in your health and sends an actual treatment plan that made sense. He also does his homework researching ones problem to help identify potential causes and treatment options. When he scheduled me for treatments, tests and biopsy, I did not have to wait very long at all (not the usual several months out like most other medical providers). Being 77 years old, I have seen lots of different doctors and providers during my life. Dr Ruffin is one of the best doctors I have had the pleasure to see and interact with about my health and medical needs. . I most strongly recommend Dr Ruffin 100 percent. Very, very satisfied patient.

Dr. Ruffin is a champion for his patients. He goes above and beyond to make sure we get the care and treatments we need. His care is top notch and I trust his knowledge and advice. He talks to me like an equal and makes sure I understand everything before I leave the office. He found a problem with my with ears that no one else did. Antibiotics were always the answer, since I was a baby with my fist of multiple, multiple ear infections. He is in the process of getting my cochlear implant approved. It’s not been easy working with the insurance co. But he and the surgery center are continuing to appeal their denials. His office staff are kind, patient and commutative. I appreciate the extra mile they take.

Needed hearing test, received what I came for

The staff made me welcomed the 1st set of tests were easy and not intimidating. Learned much about the wars. Dr. Ruffin was quick in his assessments and got the paperwork for my blood chem MRI rolling. Now waiting for my brain imaging to take place.

Dr Ruffin is young, qualified and interested in helping. He listens very well, asks good questions and then moves in for what he recommends as a way forward.

I am a physician/surgeon with single-sided hearing loss and recently consulted with Dr. Ruffin about a cochlear implant. Dr. Ruffin is a rare kind of physician. Yes, his personal experience with hearing loss gives him a unique perspective when counseling hearing-impaired pateints but the reason for his excellence goes far beyond this. Dr. Ruffin’s gift is rooted in his consideration of each patient in the full context of their lives and in his goal to not simply “improve hearing” but to “make lives better”. This may seem like a subtle point but, as I have found through consultations with other less proficient ENTs and audiologists, is critical in helping patients with hearing loss. Care like this requires exceptional training to be sure but cannot fully develop without a personal mission to being of service. Not all doctors possess such qualities. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ruffin. He is a great gift for all patients that struggle with hearing loss.

Very disappointed. He was not listening to patient concerns/complain and didn’t do thorough examination on my ear. Not even 10 minutes and examination done .

Ruffin and the audiologist Lauren Kawaguchi were superb. One feature of her technique led to more accurate results than I'd gotten in Denmark.
