Very knowledgeable, professional, and has a great sense of humor that makes me feel comfortable and puts me at ease.

Went to him about abdominal pains and diarrhea that has been going on for 3 weeks. Also had been Hospitalized for bowel obstruction. Talked about abdominal pain and didn’t even discuss diarrhea. Didn’t even do a physical exam. But his notes said he did. Just sat at his computer and asked a few questions. He then lectured me on my diet. I tried to explain that I was already doing what he said but he ignored me. He gave me a sample of a dietary supplement that wasn’t a med and not FDA approved. He said if it works then get it over the counter. If it didn’t work call and he would talk over the phone. He said I didn’t need to return either way. Still in pain and having diarrhea like crazy but he won’t try to help me. Looking for another specialist. Not easy to do. But this doctor is useless.

I’ve seen a GI specialist for over 10 years, had many doctors appointments with countless doctors, and never have I been made to feel the way he made me feel. The entire appointment with him he talked about my weight. I am a 23 year old, active female who eats healthy & is aware of my weight. Every question I asked, he answered with lose weight, or another round about way to comment on my weight. The only suggestions he had for me was to eat fruits and vegetables and protein, which I do yet I still am having digestive issues, that’s why I went. He didn’t do any form of exam & cut me off every time I spoke. I do not recommend him, and will not be going back.

Very rude and unprofessional! Was in a rush to leave without answering our questions in a patient manner. Would not advise making any appointments with this doctor.

Dr. Chen is friendly, willing to listen, and shows he cares. I've appreciated that Dr. Chen is happy to make alternative suggestions for my condition as opposed to just handing me an Rx for a bottle of pills. With a caring doctor like Dr. Chen...the language barrier can be easily overlooked.

Dr. Chen saved my life by finding and repairing a rare upper GI arterial bleed.
