Dr. Charles Elwell Jr, DMD

I recently spent $3500 as a patient of oral surgeon Dr. Charles Elwell. To prepare for dentures, my upper teeth were pulled. Although unpleasant, everything was fine until he came to the last tooth; a back molar. For some reason, this tooth was unusually sensitive, making the injections very painful. Without thinking, I shouted “ouch.” In a belittling way, Dr. Elway said “oh, Neal”. His demeanor was unprofessional and condescending. In my opinion, he treated me like a child. I’ve had cancer on three separate occasions during my life and have had a titanium plate inserted in the back of my neck due to degenerative disc disease. My point is that while I’ve experienced my share of pain during my life, I know the injections to this specific tooth were unusually painful. In my opinion, Dr. Elway became unprofessional and did little to hide his frustration the time I shouted out. His behavior towards me was unprofessional and belittling. I lost respect for him after he did

Dr. Elwell is awful! He was rude and smug, laughed at us when we asked questions, and wouldn't give us straight answers to our questions. He raised to prescribe antibiotics even AFTER he took X-rays, but called them a CT Scan so he could charge us more money, and showed us all of the infection....said antibiotics are not needed because 'that infection has been there forever.' We went with our gut and said we were going to get a second opinion before agreeing to any surgery and he laughed and told his nurse if we want a second opinion to just cancel the whole thing. He said he 'doesn't take second opinions.' That was the only opinion we needed from him! We will NEVER recommend anyone to use this 'man' for their dental needs!

Dr. Elwell is very pleasant and smart. Very Honest and a true professional. He went over the ct scan with me. Explained everything and I felt comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend this doctor.

So this is the second time I’ve tried to share me experiences with this office. First one disappeared. Once again I spent over $9000.00 with this practice. Basically $2000.00 a implant with anesthesia additional cost. With thin A weeks one implant did not stay in. He led me to believe that once covid was over we would get back making it work. So now I have 3 implants. Yesterday another one came out. I called the office and let then know this. They said come in next day. Then I got call back 5min later. They now want me to go to my Dentist. WHY?? And if I want to see Elwell not Dentist it would cost $200.00. Who treat patients like this? This Dr is unpleasant,unprofessional and rude. As you have already seen a review. So all I can say you are so much better if you go somewhere else. Trust me.

Dr. Elwell is a very rude, bitter, and callous individual. When he was talking to me about my surgery, he went out of his way to make me feel small and stupid when I asked necessary questions about my procedure. I did not feel welcome in his office. His staff was fine, but the surgeon himself is rude and extremely unprofessional. I would not trust him with your friends and loved ones. Look for someone with nicer bedside manner that will treat you like a human being.

Best experience that I have ever been through for a surgery. Quick and painless. I went right back to work after operation. Highly recommend Dr.Elwell and his great staff.
