Dr. Lago Brought My Life Back
During my first visit with Dr. Lago, he was incredibly receptive and understanding. He gave me the time to explain my story, and seemed to truly hear my pain. He recommended a procedure for which I followed through. The procedure went as planned with no complications. The post-op follow ups were timely, constructive and reassuring. The office staff was kind, friendly and respectful. Lastly, the payment process was cohesive and fairly priced.I highly recommend visiting Dr. Lago for your colorectal concerns.

A kind surgeon and a great office. He is busy and has lots of patients but I found him willing to answer questions and explain the process. I am grateful to have him as my doctor during a challenging time.

Avoid this guy like the plague!
Dr. Lago is so incredibly insensitive to your problems. He does all the talking, and does not listen to a word that you’re saying. Dr. Lago shows no emotional support to your issues. He comes across as I know everything don’t ask me anything just listen to me.

Great Doctor/Bad billing
Dr. Lago was wonderful and has a great personality. However, his billing department makes the experience HORRIBLE! I thought a procedure we scheduled would be billed as medically necessary on my insurance, but it wasn't and I did not find out until the day before my procedure. I called the office multiple times asking to be connected to billing, but my calls are never answered and no one returns my voice messages I leave. Even after the procedure, (where I was required to pay up front), they did not return my call. This was nearly 2 months ago and I have yet to get them on the phone, but I did get another bill from them.

“Lago Time”
I was recommended to Dr. Lago by one of the hospital doctors. Not only is Dr. Lago on his own time, which was the running joke inside of his surgery prep room between the other doctors, nurses and some of his own patients. He also does not have bedside manor. I have a painful growth and his response was to continue to do over the counter routines such as creams for a “bath”. I explained that this was something I have done for months with no result. He had me utilIze a facility that he owns or has shares in so at the end of the day it was always about maximizing the amount of money to go in to his account while I still wake up in pain.

Was recommended to Dr. lago for a fissure issue back in March '21. His first examination was very rough and painful. I has a fissure and used a cream I had been decribe by my GI doctor. Came back two weeks later and he was more gentle during the exam. Said to continue the ointment for a month and scheduled a appointment a month later. He said to cancel if I felt better. I cancelled my April appointment because I felt better. I have been using it and its mostly cleared up. I had a flare up today. Im travelling to NY for a week and he would not refill the ointment. When I called, the office person told me that he could be sued and couldnt refill the ointment. I called her out, said can I set a meeting for October 5th (1st available time) but that I need just one tube refilled. They refused. I asked why and she again stated he could be sued for giving a prescription for an a$$ cream. You know what they say about doctors. They are what their spacialty is. (He's a pain in the a$$)

This is the worst doctor Iv'e ever seen in U.S.(even all around the world). I waited almost an hour, then Dr. Largo and his cold-face assistant came in to the room. He did not even ask me clearly what was my symptom. With only few seconds talking, he started "examination" without any warning. The action was rude and sudden. It was so painful that I could not bear it. All he cares is about money. The medicine he prescribed for me only made my symptom worse. I could've given him 0 star if I could

On my 1st appointment, I waited 1 hr and then asked how much longer. They said they scratched me off the list and thought someone had taken me back. I had to leave and make another appointment. I show up to the 2nd appointment and he conducted a quick exam with a finger. I receive a $100 bill for "Surgery". I call the office because I was sure this was a mistake. They say that he performed some type of procedure on me with some type of a scope. That never happened. Blatant lie!

Dr. Lago is very thorough, honest & direct, and skilled. He's known by many local doctors including my Gastro group and my GP, as the best Colo-Rectal surgeon in south Florida. Dr. Lago does see patients in the hospital early mornings so sometimes I've had to wait a bit (30 minutes) when I have an a.m. office appointment. Don't love the waiting but it hasn't been too bad. More importantly, he's very thorough and direct and he's very highly skilled.

I had a pilonidal cyst. Dr. Lago recommended surgery and was extremely detailed in explaining the surgery and healing process. I was able to get a consultation appointment within 1 week and a surgery appointment within 2 weeks. Dr. Lago and his staff were so kind, knowledgeable, etc. The nurse even offered to change my bandage for a couple of days when my home health nurse couldn't change my packing. They made an uncomfortable procedure very pleasant. I would highly recommend him.

We were referred to Dr Lago though our PCP. My husband was diagnosed with a 6cm tumor in his Colon. We called and got an immediate appointment . The office staff was efficient and very nice. Dr.Lago reviewed the colonoscopy report and explained in detail the surgical process to remove the tumor.. dr Lago performed the surgery with success and my husband had no complications . The cancer is gone and I believe he is a remarkable surgeon and would recommend to anyone.

Dr Lago was insensitive and wouldn't listen to my concerns nor answer some of my questions. This was my first visit , having been reffered by my family Dr. Mr appointment was for 11:00am. I arrived at 10:40am and was seen ONE HOUR later! Both he and his head nurse were abrupt, rude, and condecending. Dr. Lego may be good at his specialty, but he won't see me again. 73 year old male patient
