Knowledgeable but rude
I had Dr. Lin as my primary care physician for a few years. In the beginning she was great. She is definitely a very skilled doctor and knows her stuff. However; she is incredibly inflexible and can be downright rude. I had a med-check appointment and ended up getting ill beforehand. She addressed the illness, which I never asked for, but wouldn't attend to the original appointment reason which was to discuss labs and meds. When I pushed the issue, because I had disturbing lab results and needed to discuss it, she started shaking all over and was visibly distressed. She slammed my paperwork down and demanded I make another appointment. Her concern over staying on schedule was beyond acceptable. I understand the need to not get behind. But let's face it: sometimes stuff happens. A doctor needs a little flexibility and compassion. Her bedside manner is atrocious! I immediately dropped her and found a new physician.

Dr. Lin
Dr. Lin has always been very attentive to what I am saying. She has been accurate on diagnoses and checks with me frequently for followup. She will actually call me herself with concerns and information. I feel that she cares about me as a person.

Thorough and observant
On my first (and so far, only) visit with Dr. Lin, I was especially impressed by the time she took to listen to my concerns and go through my health history. I'm looking for a new PCP, and after this initial visit, Dr. Lin would be my first choice.

After a two-month hospital visit, you would think Dr. Lin would have some compassion, patience and empathy. Instead she was dismissive, unprofessional, uncaring, rude and seemed annoyed when asked questions. Several months ago, she also dismissed my mom's complaint of pain without examining her and it turned out she required surgery for an unhealing wound on her bottom. When my mom mentioned this to Dr. Lin, she got rude and defensive. Her response was actually, "You sat THAT much before being hospitalized?" Dr. Lin also recommended putting topical Benadryl on a healing surgical incision, to which the cardiologist said absolutely not because it increases risk of infection. I'd recommend seeking care elsewhere.

I had to ask for a specialist when my symptoms were brushed off as minor. As it turned out I needed surgery & other serious treatment. I never got a call to see how I was doing. I thought she was pretty good at first but we did not communicate well.

I asked her to order a lab for blood work. She refused as she has not seen me for two years. However, I would have perhaps needed her advice and consultation on said blood work, but I don't want to pay for two office visits for the same issue. One just to see her to get the blood work, and one after to discuss with her. I was later advised by other doctors I can do this without a Dr's order in Oregon. She did not give me this advise. I feel she's not working for my health but just seeks $
