Dr. Cher Chang, MD

I went to Tria urgent care in Woodbury for acute pain in my left knee that came on all of a sudden at work. I had a previous fracture in the same knee a few years ago and the pain felt very similar. My knee was moderately swollen, minimal bruising. Dr. Chang did the exam, moved my knee in different positions that produce severe pain. I had an X-Ray, it showed no fracture, no bone abnormality. The diagnosis was 'Arthritis'. I pushed to have an MRI of my knee that would show any soft ligament, tendon, etc injury. Dr. Chang did not pursue questions as to when the pain occurred or exactly when the pain came on. He ordered an MRI.Two days later and I had my MRI. The MRI showed a 'Torn Meniscus'. Luckily Dr. Chang was not on that day and another physician went over the results with me. I was ordered a knee sleeve, knee exercises, a daily 24 hour anti-inflammatory prescription and was offered a cortisone shot which I declined.Dr. Chang: Don't discount your patients and listen to them.
