Impressed
Dr. Yarborough is incredibly thorough. He has methodically worked through other possible causes for my condition. He just referred me for another round of testing because he says he’s not convinced yet that surgery would fix my problems. Despite the headache of referrals, I’ve had prior failed back surgeries, and I prefer to not go through another unless I see improvement. I respect Dr. Yarborough for this. He told me from the beginning that if he doesn’t feel I would show a benefit of at least 50%, he will not commit to surgery. This is the type of conservative approach I wish I’d had the benefit of before the last back surgery that ended up ruining my back. Dr. Yarborough and his staff have impressed me to no end. I appreciate them so much. This is the type of surgeon that sets the standard by which the rest should be judged. First, do no harm. Kudos to Dr. Yarborough and his team.

cervical arthroplasty
Dr. Yarbrough did an amazing job with my surgery. He always took the time to explain everything, and my options and I did not feel forced to make a certain decision. My surgery went amazing, and I was back to normal quicker than expected. Anything I needed during the process was addressed promptly and I as a medical professional would highly recommend him and his office.

Kind and thorough!
Dr. Yarbrough has great bedside manner because he is incredibly patient, kind and thorough. Additionally, I am doing significantly better after my surgery 3 months post op and looking forward to getting back on the lacrosse field as a collegiate athlete in the next 3 months. He was and has been very responsive to any questions I have had pre and post surgery.

He was very straightforward and didn’t cut corners with me as it was difficult for me to hear that I had to have this major surgery. He did an amazing job and because of him I am able to walk again and love a normal life!!

Always advocate for yourself
I had surgery by Dr Yarbrough at the end of 2021 for severe compression at T2-3. A few weeks later, I sneezed and felt a snap. When I reached out to him, he said it may be a stitch, to keep an eye on it. Over the past 1.5 yrs, I have been in touch as the pain remained. We did every imaging available and I'd seen other doctors, who noted compression at the surgical site. He dismissed these findings and told me to find pain management near me. (I'm 2.5 hrs away) I had another MRI in March 2023, findings were "severe compression T2-3" I Had a phone consult and he didn't feel confident with the findings. He messaged me the next day about my case, apologizing that he wasn't clear. He presented my case and images to the team for review and also had Duke's radiology department look at my images. They noted things the prior radiologist didn't. I appreciate Dr Y's persistence in finding the problem.
