It’s a cold, rude experience.
He greeted us and turn around and walked swiftly away. After examining me, he sat typing on his laptop for a long time, in complete silence, as if he’d forgotten we were there. My husband and I kept looking at each other, like “Is this right?” I made my second appointment, for 8am, which the office cancelled via voicemail late the afternoon before the appointment, stating that “he’ll see you at 3:15 instead”. Nope. I’ll wait for my preferred neurology group next time.

Terribile experience - scheduled appointment month
Terribile experience, scheduled appointment months ahead; the day with scheduled date and time, just an hour before the scheduled appointment, his office called telling my husband that Dr. Patel decided to CANCEL, REFUSE my husband’s appointment after month of wait, he decided do not accept my husband. HE IS NOT A DOCTORDo not waste your time and money with him. What a nightmare and waste of time. It’s absolutely unacceptable. Very disappointing.

He has better things to do
I’ve seen this Doc several times. His notes are inaccurate and downplay my condition, as if he isn’t listening to me describe my issues. He ended my last appt by getting up and opening the door, ten minutes into the appt, after I had waited months to see him.

Shows empathy and care to patients. He didn’t just follow the regimen from my previous neurologist, but checked for gaps in treatment and addressed that

Belittling and degrading
This doctor lacks basic courtesy and empathy in patient interactions. Throughout my appointment, his behavior was consistently disrespectful, marked by condescension and a dismissive attitude. There was a noticeable absence of compassion, and he had little interest in addressing my concerns or providing meaningful assistance. For instance, he asked if I ever experienced a specific nerve condition (the medical term escapes me), to which I responded 'I'm not sure.' Rather than offer clarity, he says, 'You probably don't know what that is,' concluding the conversation without further explanation. The only information he bothered to convey was the need to discontinue a medication six months before planning a pregnancy due to potential side effects on the fetus. He then turns to me from typing on his computer the entire time and says “you knew that, right?” It felt accusatory. Moreover, I inquired about continuing a prescription regimen I had from my previous neurologist; he actually scoff

Hello, is anybody in there?
This person is rude and has absolutely no bedside manner. I have met with him twice. The 1st time he typed on his computer the whole time not saying a thing; then, when I read his notes, it was just his NP's notes copied and pasted. The 2nd time I met with him, he demanded, 'Why are you here?'. When I told him and noted that his NP recommended I talk to him, he again demanded, 'No, you don't understand, why are you here?'. He could be the greatest surgeon in the world, but if you can't converse with him, I'm not sure he can help.

Don't waste your time with him
horrible experience - scheduled appointment months ahead; two weeks before scheduled date, his office called telling me "Dr. Patel decided to that that day off, we need to reschedule" - after months of wait, he decided to take a day off and put patient on hold. What a nightmare and waste of time. He's not the only Neurologist in Bay Area and don't waste your money here.

I can't say enough good thing about Dr. Patel. He successfully performed a brain surgery of removing malignant legion from my wife 3 years ago. I know he has to face many patients with very serious case but he is always very positive and caring.
