Dr. Chris Spilker, MD

What a great doctor! I found Dr. Spilker to be engaging and caring, and from my perch in pre-op, I witnessed this with others. I was very stressed about my surgery, and he was both easy going and calming. During the start of my procedure, I felt his wrist brush mine and then he took my hand and held it the whole time. This meant so much to me: it felt so caring and so human, even though we were strangers. I told this story to my surgeon and told him how moved I was. My surgeon smiled and told me that Dr. Spilker sees an average of a 20 point drop in blood pressure by doing that. Even though I was awake for my procedure, I felt no pain the whole time. He was good about checking in with me. If I ever have to have another surgery, I will go to great lengths to try and secure him for my care team.

Dr. Spilker was my anesthesiologist for my complete abdominal hysterectomy. He is candid, forthright and gracious in all communications. His giftedness in anesthesiology and his humility are what stand out about him. If I ever need another surgery and there is any way possible to have him as my anesthesiologist, I would have none other. His smile lights up the room and says, There is no other place in the whole world I would rather be during your surgery than watching over you.100%focused.
