Dr. Christi Hughart, DO

I was quite apprehensive about my first visit with Dr. Hughart and Urology of Virginia as I did not know what to expect. I have to say that I would recommend Dr. Hughart to anyone!! She was very knowledgeable, efficient, but not rushed, took time to answer my questions and was just great! The office staff at 225 Clearfield were wonderful as well. I did not have to wait and everyone was helpful, patient and kind. A truly great first visit. I would have no qualms referring anyone to Dr. Hughart if they needed a Urologist.

Office time management is intolerable. Over the last two years I can almost guarantee that I will wait an hour or more before seeing the doctor. Today it was over an hour and a half. I finally walked out. If I need to allow an hour of wait time, I can just as easily drive to Durham or Lynchburg.

I took my 88 year old father to an appointment with Dr. Hughart this afternoon. After waiting an hour in an exam room, a technician came in and said that Dr. Hughart wanted to do a certain invasive scoping procedure on my father. I asked if Dr. Hughart could come in and talk to us a little about this procedure. We moved into the procedure room anyway. After 20 more minutes, Dr. Hughart came in, gave me a two minute explanation of the procedure, then told us that now we would have to make another appointment to have the procedure done. She said basically that because she had to take the time to talk to us (2 minutes) that she now didn't have time to do the scope procedure. She was arrogant and uncaring. I explained that I had driven 2 hours from Roanoke to bring my dad to this appointment. To add to my disgust, Dr. Hughart had called the day of my father's previous appointment and cancelled. She evidently thinks the only valuable time is her own.

Policy change to discontinue providing required annual prior approval renewals to my pharmacy BC/Anthem mail order service for a prescribed medication. This will result in a major cost increase out of pocket if filled elsewhere. Further, the most common courtesy of letting me know of this policy decision was not done. My pharmacy mail service sent in at least three requests for renewal dating back to August to this office that were ignored. I would not recommend this medical facility.

The Dr. is pleasant and thorough. She explains medical issues in layman’s terms and formulates a plan to accomplish healing results! She’s great!

Very professional, great knowledge, listens very well, great attitude.
