Dr. Birkedal always goes above and beyond what is expected. He makes himself easily accessible to his patients, even on the weekends.

From our very first encounter with Dr. Birkedal, it was clear he was the perfect choice for us – what a refreshing experience! He attentively listened to our concerns, provided thorough explanations about the hernia repair surgery, and warmly invited any questions we had. On the day of the procedure, he calmly walked us through the steps, instilling confidence with his assurance of a successful outcome, all delivered with a genuine smile. Just four days post-op, he personally reached out to check on our progress. We are incredibly impressed and delighted with him and his entire team.

DR. WAS AN IS VERY INFORMATIVE,ALONG WITH THE STAFF.

He explained nothing. At my last post op visit for Hernia repair he did not even come into the room. At another visit when I only saw the RNP not the doctor, I asked about this when I saw him in the hallway, he replied she has been with him for 15 years and he trusts her. Later my concern proved true when if seen by the doctor he would have noticed a seroma, she failed to do so, His RNP examined me, at the last post op visit, when I asked her about an unusual swelling and pain she said it was normal and would not last long. After 3 weeks I saw another surgeon he did a CT scan and said I had a seroma and had to have a drain inserted. This caused me 3 weeks of additional pain and a huge additional co-pay.

I think Dr. Birkedal and his staff are wonderful! Fighting weight issues most of my adult life, now I'm healthier and happier thanks to their care. They are patient and reassuring.

Excellent surgeon. Explains thoroughly how he is going to operate; what to expect for recovery. Direct & to the point. Follow up and staff are highly professional.

Dr birkadel has always been kind and concerned with all my needs before and after surgery. He always listens to everything I have to say and helps me through whatever is going on. Really not sure what happened...Dr. Birkedal removed enlarged lymph gland being suspicious of lymphoma because I was in extreme pain and had sudden weight loss of 8lbs in 2 weeks. I was told prior to consider a possible internal hernia. I had 3 E.R. visits at Florida Memorial which was total nightmare all before Birkedal operated. Bottom line..lymph node was benign and I never was told or followed up what caused all the pain and sickness.

Dr. Birkedal is amazing. I had a total Thyroidectomy/Parathyroid removal and an Axillary Mass under my left arm on May 26th, 2016.He made me feel so comfortable before and after surgery. Dr. Birkedal is a very kind, caring, man. Awesome personality making me and my family very comfortable. His staff at the office and hospital are amazing also.

Was warned by GP not to use him for Gallbladder surgery, but due to ER situation, was assigned him for surgery as my choice surgeon was out of town during the emergency.. Birkedal Botched the surgery, sent me home without even seeing me in the hospital and ended up with 3 more ER visits, large drainage bag for 10 days, 4 CT-Scans due to najor leaking and then TWELVE WEEKS of Infectious Disease doctor care to handle rare E-Coli infection..

Horrible experience: He is very enigmatic, poor surgeon, left me with grotesque hernias and did not remove tumors.

He and his staff are totally professional, well trained in patient care and concerns of the patient, after care in well beyond what is necessary. Great team.
