Harmful and Dangerous Practitioner
I began seeing this surgeon in 2021 and initially felt confident in my care under Penn with him for hip dysplasia. However, my pain and arthritis advanced and I was advised that I would receive steroid shots then surgery when they no longer provided relief.By 2024, my arthritis advanced to bone on bone and I was riddled with debilitating pain that kept me from being able to drive to see my mother before her death in December. Under his “care”, My pain advanced to the point that I cannot walk and use a walker. Despite all of this, he walked into my last appointment without shutting the door or introducing his resident and proclaimed that I am not a candidate for surgery without explanation and walked out as I cried. Didn’t even offer a tissue.I’ve been left unable to walk and in pain that wakes me out of my sleep and he walked out on me with no resolution or plan for care. His bedside manner is downright cruel.DO NOT SEE DR. ANTHONY!

Success and more success
Dr Anthony came highly recommended from other surgeons. He looked at X-rays and gave me my options, including surgery but it was not the only option. His staff made it easy to schedule and prepare for the surgery. Had the other hip done 6 months later. Absolutely no pain now. Skilled surgeon. I felt he listened to me and respected my concerns. Highly recommended

Thankful for my surgery
I first saw Dr. Anthony in December of 2023 with a hip which had rapidly become more painful. He indicated that from Xrays and a brief exam that I was a candidate for hip replacement. When I agreed surgery was set up for February 14th. Within a week I had a call from his office saying that he had decided my surgery should be moved to February 7th, 2024. After following the necessary additional internal medicine exams etc. I had the surgery. I was told it was one of the worse cases he had seen in several months. I believe some of the surgery was done robotically. Since then I have had a successful recovery and my mobility is 110% better than it had been a year earlier.

Took a year of my life
I have spent four months in horrible pain and I think it was unnecessary. I had severe arthritis in both hips when I saw Dr. Anthony for the first time, and he recommended an epidural. I regret that I agreed to that because it meant that I would wait three months after the epidural to see him and to have a date for surgery. By that time, I had debilitating pain in the other hip. Because of my inactivity I developed blood clots. This meant the surgery was delayed for another four months. It will be a year by the time I am on the mend. I blame Dr. Anthony for not recommending surgery right away. He gives the impression that he doesn't care about his patients. I wish I had seen the rating before I made an appointment with him. I wish there was someway to warn people, and to tell them not to agree to epidurals.

Improperly diagnosed my failed surgery
I had total hip replacement by Dr Anthony in late 2021. Six weeks later, I was in worse pain that ever. Dr Anthony told me to continue with PT and “push through the pain,” give it another month or two. The pain continued to worsen to the point where I could not put weight on the leg at all without extreme sharp pain. He said there was nothing wrong with my hip and sent me to a spinal surgeon. Eventually I got second, third, and fourth opinions: all of these doctors said my X-rays and scans showed that the original hip implant was dislodged and this was the source of the pain. Either Dr Anthony doesn’t know how to read medical images, or he lied and covered up the failed surgery. The result was months of extreme pain and anxiety not understanding what was wrong, and two additional surgeries to correct the problem, since the loose implant had caused bone damage while I continued to “push through the pain” per his instructions.

Should have read these reviews before booking appt
Christopher Anthony was demeaning & full of himself. Refused to look at MRI a written reports from others and disregarded anything I said. Couldn’t give me the treatment suggested because it wasn’t the correct day for that. Spent just about 5-8 mins, never examined me, then never returned. Someone else wrote a script, which BTW did nothing to alleviate the pain.

Collaborative Care
My surgical assessment with Dr. Anthony was collaborative. He spent time sharing my images and talking through my injury, and getting to know me as an athlete and person. He shared data from studies to explain the recommendation he was making, and even helped me work through how I can prevent reinjury in the future.

Total waste of time
Drove all the way to Radnor from South Jersey. Waited over an hour because Dr. Anthony was running behind. I filled out all the paperwork online. My recent MRIs were in the UPenn system. I wrote that I was looking for an evaluation of a labral tear and cyst on my hip. He did not even bother to look at the MRI. Took a quick look at the XRay, asked me to point to the location of the pain. Never examined me. Said I was too old for labral tear surgery which I'm willing to accept but don't make me drive and waste and entire day. They knew my age and why I was coming. Take 2 minutes to call and tell me before making an appointment that he does not do labral tear surgery on anyone over 35. Big waste of time. He did not bother to explain anything. Said he couldn't help me and walked out. The entire 'exam' lasted for less than 5 minutes.

Don't waste your time
Didn’t listen or care to listen at all. Neglected my MRI results completely. Only cared about telling me how “great” he is and following that up with but i have no idea how to help you. What a waste of everyone’s time.
