Very poor communication
They are friendly in the office. Dr. Chittum really only gives basic info. Communication between appointments is very poor. Good luck if you have a question or problem.

First Appointment
Dr. Chittum and his staff are very professional. They were all so kind and patient with my indecision. Dr. Chittum gave me a straightforward, honest assessment of the upcoming spinal fusion I have elected to have. I am confident I have found a great surgeon, which lessons my natural fear of a major surgery. Dr. Chittum has a lot of experience with spinal fusions, which also reassures me. I highly recommend Dr. Chittum and his entire staff.

Initial contact.
Myself having 6 back surgeries in another state and looking at possible Radiculopathy surgery, Dr. knows exactly what to do. He will listen to what you have to say. He shows integrity. The people around him are kind, courteous and very knowledgeable. CONA is the place to be.

Dr.Chittum is a wonderful surgeon
Dr.Chittum did a spinal fusion on my lower back on 3-1-23. He did a great job. He has a great personality. Explains in language I can understand. Follow up is been point on. Pain controlled as best I believe can be. Also he is a sharp dresser, handsome & smells good. I’m not hitting on him, just saying. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr. Judy Carter .

Dr. Chittum is wonderful!
Dr. Chittum performed a one level spinal fusion surgery on me in 2016. I received first notch care. Now I am having a two level spinal fusion surgery above the one I had in 2016. My care this time is just as good as the first time. Dr. Chittum and his entire staff, including his office staff are professional, efficient and friendly. Dr. Chittum is an excellent surgeon who goes the extra mile to make the entire process of a back surgery as smoothly as possible!!

In this pandemic period where all healthcare workers are overloaded and stressed to the point that it does affect their patient interactions, the team at Dr. Chittum's office are spectacular. They are professional and friendly, and they take the time to make sure the patient and any associated caregiver/caretaker understand everything and have their questions answered. I received follow up and proactive calls from his office about critical items. I not only recommend Dr. Chittum and his practice to anyone seeking neurological services, but also to all healthcare practices wanting to know what excellent sounds like!

DR. CHITTUM DID SURGERY ON MY NECK 7-21-2021. AFTER THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO EVEN TALK TO HIM FACE TO FACE OR EVEN ON THE PHONE. USALLY THE DR. WILL COME TALK TO YOU AFTER HE DOES YOUR SURGERY. A APPOINTMENT WAS SET FOR 2 WEEKS AFTER MY SURGERY ON AUG. 4th TO SEE A NP JENNIFER TURNER. SHE CAME IN THE ROOM AND STAYED 5 TO 6 FOOT BACK FROM ME AND NEVER EVEN CAME OVER CLOSE ENOUGH TO LOOK AT THE INCISION ON MY NECK. ALL SHE TOLD ME I NEED TO START PHYSICAL THERAPY . SHE COULD HAVE TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE AND I WOULD NOT WASTED MY TIME AND GAS GOING THERE. I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED THAT I HAVN'T EVEN BEEN ABLE TO SEE OR TALK TO DR. CHITTUM SINCE MY SURGERY. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND TRIED TO GET AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE HIM BECAUSE OF MY PAIN, AND THE LADY TOLD ME SHE COULD ONLY SET AN OPPOINTMENT A MONTH LATER TO SEE THE NP JENNIFER TURNER AGAIN. SHE SAID SHE COULD TRANSFER ME TO HIS NURSE. I LEFT HER A MESSAGE TELLING HER I NEEDED TO COME IN AND SEE DR CHITTUM. SHE NEVER HAS CALLED ME BACK.

He performed surgery on my daughter. After, to get any response from him was like pulling teeth. No bedside manner at all.....which I can accept if I fully believed 100% in him, which I do not. After complications and other doctors recommending more MRI's and having them done...he apparently doesn't have the time to just call to tell us the results. Appointments have been canceled and new appointments are weeks away. We just want to know the results if there was damage! If there was damage, we want to ho somewhere else to have it fixed. If the MRI was fine, then we could have went back to the doctor who recommended the MRI and looked at what we need to do next. So now, because of Chittum we can choose to be in limbo for over a month or find an actual doctor that cares and stands behind his work.
